Chapter 1 An Uninvited Guest

Gloria's POV

Today marked a momentous occasion for the Darknight Pack, as their Alpha Frank prepares to formalize his bond with his Luna. Meanwhile, I found myself in the dressing room, adorned in a resplendent gown, anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Alpha.

"May I come in, Gloria?" Frank's courteous and gentlemanly voice resonated through the door.

He had always been the epitome of chivalry, and while I harbored no ill intentions towards him, his demeanor sometimes made me feel distant.

"Of course, come in."

As the door creaked open, I turned to face Frank's entrance into the room.

"You look enchanting, Gloria," he remarked.

"Thank you," I replied, feeling a surge of delight at his compliment. "Calm yourself," I silently whispered to my wolf, trying to steady my emotions, as my gaze involuntarily gravitated towards Frank.

Frank donned a distinguished gray suit today, accentuating his slender and upright form. The sunlight streamed gently through the window, enveloping him like a divine aura. His warm brown eyes met mine, setting my heart racing and leaving me breathless.

"Are you ready?" Frank inquired, extending his arms toward me.

His sudden display of intimacy filled me with ecstasy, prompting me to cast aside all the reservedness that society expected of a lady. I stepped forward eagerly, taking his arm. "Of course."

For three long years, I had awaited this very moment.

"Then, let us proceed, my... Luna," Frank said, leading me out of the room. I followed him obediently and blissfully, my gaze fixed on him, his words resonating in my mind.

The commotion outside came to an abrupt halt as we emerged together. Every eye turned to gaze upon us.

"Have you heard of Alpha Frank's mate, once the esteemed eldest daughter of the former Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack? Rumor has it that she was cast out from the pack, though the reasons behind her exile remain shrouded in mystery."

"Indeed, I've heard that. It's said that she orchestrated a dreadful car crash that left her cousin Emily in a coma, and sadly, Emily still lingers in that state. Her uncle, however, continues to support her, treating her as his own, despite her father's passing."

"How terrible! But what drove her to commit such a heinous act?"

"Jealousy, my friend, a dark emotion that knows no bounds. She has long been fixated on Alpha Frank, and it appears that Emily was his first love. The accident presented an opportunity for her, as she cunningly contrived to be seen with him at a hotel, leading to a photograph that threatened the pack's reputation. In the end, Alpha Frank felt obligated to accept her as his mate. Yet, his heart remained with Emily, faithfully waiting by her bedside for three long years, hoping for a miraculous awakening that never came to pass."

"Such wickedness! Alpha Frank deserved better than that conniving Gloria."

Though a few hostile glances were directed my way, I was accustomed to such attention. Besides, at that moment, my heart was swathed in immense joy.

Frank guided me to the center of the crowd, where a stage awaited.

Nervously and with great anticipation, I observed him.

Finally, Frank sank to one knee, his body transforming into a magnificent gray wolf.

His fur gleamed in the sunlight, and he raised his head high, emitting a resonant howl that compelled me to submit.

After circling around me a few times, he lowered himself and fixed me with warm, profound eyes. I accepted his gesture and extended my hand.

Frank raised his head and pressed a gentle kiss upon my palm, the moist touch of his snout sending a shiver down my spine.

With solemn grace, he then exposed the softest part of himself, his throat, offering it to me, trusting and vulnerable.

Inside me, my wolf growled with excitement.

It was a profound promise and a symbol of trust from one of the most powerful Alpha wolves, signifying that our destinies would be interwoven and that he had devoted himself to me as his Luna.

The overwhelming surge of happiness and emotion compelled my wolf form to manifest.

With great reverence, I hung my head, anticipating the moment when my Alpha would mark me with a bite on my neck, sealing our bond.

As I lowered my head, Frank approached me slowly.

The warm breath from his nostrils against the back of my sensitive neck elicited an involuntary moan, and I couldn't help but hide my shyness and nervousness by slumping even lower.

Frank sniffed behind my ear and then, in a deliberate manner, began to open his mouth. I closed my eyes, anticipating the culmination of my longing.

"Frank! Are you leaving me behind?"

In an instant, I sensed a change in Frank's scent.

"Oh my god, that's Emily!"

"Emily, she's awake!"

Surprised voices rang out one after another, and I looked at Frank, who had by now reverted to his human form, with astonishment.

"Emily? No..." I heard him murmur.

My mouth fell open as my world crumbled before my eyes.

At the other end of the red carpet stood a tall, slender girl with long legs, clad in a crisp white dress that accentuated her soft and lovely appearance, akin to an innocent, pure angel.

She and Frank gazed at each other, tears welling in their eyes.

Everyone around them fell silent, engrossed in this movie-like scene, afraid to miss any detail.

In the next moment, Frank and Emily embraced, and my outstretched hand halted awkwardly in mid-air, unable to touch even the corner of his shirt.

At that moment, I could hear no one else, and I couldn't see anyone's face. I swear I saw Frank laughing.

My entire body trembled as my mind struggled to process everything unfolding before me.

Emily awakened!
