I frowned and glanced at her.

Emily curled her lips slightly and said, "Do you know what the biggest failure in your life is?"

"You're destined to be abandoned—by both Frank and your loved ones."

"Including your mother, who left you and your dad because you were a daughter, and she thought you were useless. What's ironic is that you actually believed your father and thought your mom died during childbirth."
