Prologue

A little girl was playing by herself in front of their house. She has no friends because of her bad attitude. Even in this neighbourhood, no one wanted to be friends with her.

She wanted to cry with that fact but she doesn't want to look weak that's why she just pretended to be okay.

"Why are you alone?" A handsome young boy came to her and took a seat beside her.

She raised her brows because that was rude. She can't remember offering him to seat.

"What are you doing?" The little boy asked again. She didn't know him. They just came here the other day to live at the house beside them.

As if reading what's on her mind, he introduced himself. "I'm Lance by the way." He extended his hand. "We just came here and I don't have any friend yet. So can you be the first?" He asked.

She shooked her head, stood up then entered their house without saying anything.

She heard the boy calling her but she just ignored him.

She stayed all day inside their house and when she came down to have dinner she's shocked to see the young man with his family.

"Rhian come here and say hi to our new neighbours." Her dad said.

She went to them and said a simple hi without any expression on her face.

"Sorry. She's just like this." Her mom said.

"It's okay." The woman answered and smiled at her.

"Let's go and play." She heard his brother asked the other boy on what she thought Lance's brother.

Her gaze followed them until they're already out of her sight.

She looked at Lance only to find him staring at her. He smiled and she's shocked when he held her hand and drag her outside. "Let's play too." He said full of excitement.

She didn't want it at first but as time passed she's already enjoying his company.

They played that night until they became best friends. Lance was always at their house or she was on theirs and they always play.

She thought their friendship won't be broken but things happened. She developed feelings for him and when she admitted she got rejected.

"I like you." She said when they were outside their house having snacks.

He smiled. "I like you too. You're my older sister I never had."

Her heart sank with the thought. She shook her head. "What I mean is I like you not as a friend or brother. But as a boy who makes my heart beats faster."

He's silent for few seconds before he speaks. "I'm sorry but I don't feel the same way. I'm inlove with someone else and I'm bound to marry her."

It's like a million daggers stabbed her chest that she can't seem to find herself breathe normally.

"Excuse me." She ran away from him and entered the house while tears were forming in her eyes.

She cried that day and the next days until she became numb of the pain.

And that very moment, she swear to herself not to get involve in that so called "LOVE."
