Two

Reagan’s POV

I tried to guess the reason for the pack witch impromptu visit, but I couldn't find one, and looking at my two clueless aides, I took a deep breath and muttered. “Fine, you too go downstairs and make sure that she's fully settled. I will be down in a few minutes.”

“Uhm, Reagan, I have another thing to tell you,” Dolphus let out as he scratched his head.

I was able to tell that it was an unreasonable thing because he usually does dumb stuff like this whenever he wants to ask for an absurd thing but I still let him.

“Just say whatever you want to say, we can't keep the old witch waiting,” I replied impatiently.

“During my last journey, I found out about a miracle healer. She lives in the Red Moon Pack. In case we can't find your mate, can I bring her here to treat you so she can extend your life?" Dolphus let out carefully.

“Are you cursing me? Why are you talking about some healer when I'm still in search of my mate? Shut the hell up about your miraculous healer and go and make the old witch comfortable,” I retorted with a huge frown.

He knew that only my mate can cure me but he still went ahead to talk about some damn healer.

I don't want an extended life, I want my MATE!

“What about the girl?" Amoux asked on their way out.

“Just settle her and make sure she keeps her pretty

mouth shut?" I replied dismissively.

“What girl?”

I heard Dolphus inquired from Amoux but I wasn't interested in their telltale conversation.

I quickly went into the big wooden tub that was just some distance away from my majestic bed.

The tub is always filled with hot water before I wake up so the temperature is always at the level that I love most.

After taking my bath, I dressed up and made my way downstairs to check why the old witch decided to visit my home after so many years.

The last time I saw her was when I was a teenager.

“Is the girl gone?” I mindlinked Amoux immediately as I got downstairs.

“Yes, she left before we got back downstairs." Amoux replied via mind link.

I turned to see the old witch sitting on one of the couches in the sitting room with a glass of wine in front of her.

I immediately knew that the glass of wine was Amoux's idea, he is the alcoholic among us.

“My Alpha king,” The pack witch greeted with a bow the moment she noticed my presence.

I nodded back at her and gestured for her to have her seat.

“So why are you here?” I cut the chase and asked instantly as I took a seat adjacent to her.

“I bring good news, My Alpha,” She revealed with a feverish smile that almost creeped the hell out of me. It better be good news, because her smile says otherwise.

“What good news?” I asked in a low but straightforward voice.

“I found your mate, My Alpha," I heard her wobbling voice speak up and I froze in my seat.

Momentarily, I felt like a cold breeze surrounded me and it was too stifling to breathe.

“You found my mate?”

“You found his mate?”

My close friends' voices and mine echoed in sync as we stared at the pack witch with our eyes wide open.

“Yes, My Alpha, I found your mate. I've been watching the star for the last four hundred years in hope of seeing your mate star, but it was always fluctuating. I don't know her name but she's the daughter of the neighboring pack’s Alpha.” The pack witch announced.

“You mean Limores?” I asked the old witch again because I was still shocked about what she was telling me.

Why the hell didn't she inform me that she had been studying my mate’s star all this while?

I almost thought all of this was a hallucination until I heard her crispy voice again.

“I didn't inform you because she was just born eighteen years ago and then her star was fluctuating. I can't inform you until I'm sure of it, My Alpha.”

“Did Limores have a daughter?” I turned to ask Dolphus because he was the traveler among us and he was also in charge of inter-pack affairs.

“Yes, I think Alpha Limores have a daughter around that age. She’s beautiful and also has a nice voice.” Dolphus replied and winked at me.

I frowned when I saw his silly wink. Dumb ass.

I turned back to the old witch, unable to contain my gleeful emotions. “Thanks for this wonderful information, I will ask my Beta to escort you with lots of treasures. I hope you will accept it,” I said graciously, my huge smile almost tearing my lips.

“I'm too old for any treasures, I just hope to see that you finally find your mate, so we can have a good Luna. Though the pack is in order but it needs a feminine touch,”

“Yes, I’m aware of that. I will find her and bring her here where she belongs,” I vowed to the pack witch and she returned with a contented smile.

I watched as she slowly walked out of the house and shifted back into her wolf form and her clothes dropped on the floor.

The piece of fabric can hardly be called clothes because it looks more like a rag.

“Dolphus, send the new golden fabrics and the sapphire fabrics I received as a tribute from the eastern tribe to her hut,” I ordered immediately after a maid came to clear her clothes off.

“Did that old witch just say she found your mate and she's Alpha Limores daughter?” Amoux asked, still shocked about the news.

Even I, myself, was still shocked about the news.

After 400 years of searching for my mate and also suffering from my strange illness which I was told that only she could cure, I finally found her.

She was finally here!

“I know you heard her loud and clear.” I smirked, feeling elated than ever as I turned to Dolphus. “And you Dolphus, I wouldn't be needing your miracle healer. If I'm quick enough I will bring her here and get rid of my illness before the next full moon” I boasted, my voice dripping with happiness.

Words can't describe how happy and delighted I was at the moment, I was so happy that I felt like dancing.

So, I could finally find my mate?

Over the years, I slowly lost hope of ever finding her because of the countless girls I slept with and discovering that they weren't my mate, just like this morning.

Though I kept searching for her, each disappointment makes me less optimistic.

“Do you want me to tell you about her?” Dolphus chipped in as he joined me on the couch.

“Yeah, tell me about her,”I quickly answered.

“Look at him, he's already whipped,” they pointed at me, chuckling wildly.

Instantly the smile on my face dried up. What kind of joke is that?

“Are you going to talk or not,” I asserted coldly, my Alpha tone suppressing their laughter.

I think they got the message, because they immediately stopped laughing.

“Uhm, I heard that she's a good singer and she's also very beautiful,” Dolphus replied with a straight face that I knew he was trying to keep on. That dumb ass.

“Is that all?” Amoux asked as if sensing that I wanted to ask the same question.

“And her body!! Damn!!” Dolphus whistled but he immediately stood up from the couch when he saw my cold face.

“Oops,” I heard Amoux let out as he looked at me, also moving a couple of feets away from me. “So you are saying, she's HOT?" Amoux asked Dolphus when he thought he was safe and away from my reach.

“Damn man, you need to see her gorgeous body.”

“Will you shut up your mouth before I challenge you to a duel we both know you can never win,” I snapped at Dolphus, angry lines forming on my temple for whatever reason because I can’t call it jealousy. Too soon.

“Okay, okay. I've shut up.” Dolphus replied, using his fingers to hold his lips.

I knew a duel was the only way to keep him from saying shit about my mate.

What right did he have to look at my mate!

Yes, he didn't know she was my mate then but why is he looking at a woman?

What are you saying, Reagan?

Why can't he look at a woman?

I don't know why I feel possessive all of a sudden about Limores’ daughter when I haven't even met her yet. What if I don’t find her attractive? Impossible! That cannot happen.

“So, are you guys going to stay there or send word to Limores that I'm coming for his daughter's hand in marriage and he should prepare for the wedding?” I announced my intentions with a question after a few minutes.

“Yes, we will, right away.” They both replied with full smiles and walked out of the house to make preparations.

Apart from Amoux and Dolphus, I only have three maids living in my house. One for each of us and they were the ones that took care of the house and all other things such as food, clothing, and the rest.

I can't afford to live with more people because of my strange illness. If it's known to my pack or any of the other packs under me, it can be lethal to my position.

The maids living with us right now just started working about a year ago after the demise of the three previous maids. I was very reluctant to accept new maids because the former ones have been with me and my best friends ever since we were younger, and I also had to be cautious of who and who knew of my illness.

Before I started quarantining myself, Amoux always killed anyone who witnessed me going through my strange illness aside from the three maids because I had compelled the maids to never talk about it.

“What if Alpha Limores didn't accept?” I heard Dolphus' mind linked to me and I growled out loud.

“He dares?”
