Eira’s POV

“Why?” the vampire King and I asked simultaneously while Selene looked like she was planning on how to make her brother refuse.

“My sister's death anniversary is near and I have to go and go back for a while,” Dolphus answered.

“Isabella’s death anniversary is near? I didn't know,” I let out, squeezing his hand in sympathy.

“Yea, that's why I have to go.”

“I’m tired, I think we should go back to the courtyard, ” I muttered after a while and the vampire King nodded.

“Selene, I'm leaving,” I said again when I saw that her attention wasn't there.

“Uh? Oh alright. See you tomorrow, ” Selene replied, after a few minutes like I interrupted her thoughts.

When we got to the courtyard, I couldn’t help but feel like Dolphus hadn’t said everything at the picnic. Why? Because from the rose garden till they got to the courtyard, they didn’t exchange a word.

“Dolphus, is there something wrong?” Eira asked and Dolphus nodded.

“I have to go back to Deepwater for a while,” he replied and
