Anika’s POV

“What!” I shrieked, warning bells flaring in my head “You are the Alpha King?” I couldn’t conceal my shock.

B-b-but, the capital Pack is still a few hours away. How come he is in my pack?

“Yes, I am,” Reagan replied calmly but I shook my head.

“You can't be the Alpha King, he is a mean old wolf, you are young, gentle, and calm.” I said to him, clarifying their obvious differences.

Just because he has the same name as the Alpha King doesn’t mean he should impersonate that old mean wolf.

Alpha King Reagan is unreasonable and very ruthless; he might kill him if he learned that someone is pretending to be him.

It wasn't long after I said my statement that I found out that Reagan was laughing.

What's so funny? I frowned but the sight of his perfect dentition made me blush so hard that I'm sure my ears are redder than fresh tomatoes.

How can someone's dentition be so white and perfect? Definitely unfair!

“Who would dare impersonate me? Did you not think of that?” I heard his calm voice again but I was still staring at his handsome face absentmindedly

If he really was Alpha King maybe it wasn't a bad idea to get married to him then. Maybe the rumors were just exaggerated because if he really was as ruthless as I heard, he would have abandoned me after I bumped into his carriage and fake death. But he didn't, instead, he wrapped my wound and still brought me inside his carriage.

“I thought of it, of course, but I never expected you to be the real Alpha King,” I quickly replied.

Since he is the Alpha King doesn't that mean he's here to marry me?

Ok my gosh! I thought he wouldn't come until after a couple of days!

“Oh, so will you take me to your Alpha now? I'm here for my mate, not him,”

He really came for me! Oh my gosh!

I can't let him know that I run away from home else I wouldn't be able to live with the embarrassment.

“Uhm, sure. Taking a blind run can be quite eventful at times. Who knows I will stumble upon the Alpha King.” I beamed at him, gazing at his handsome and good-looking face.

I've never visualized the Alpha King to be this hot! No wonder those she-wolves are always at his beck and call. Who wouldn't be?

If I knew he was this good-looking, I wouldn't have run away from home. I would have burned a bunch of incense and thanked the Moon goddess for my good fortune!

“Exercise is good for your body.” His gaze rakes up my physique and a tiny smile appears on his lip. “Not that you need it though.” he complimented and I would have purred out loud if he hadn’t added, “let's be on our way.” in the most serious voice ever.

“Yes, sure, let's go,” I mutter in response, trying to force myself to look out of the window but it was at this moment that Reagan smiled at me.

It was a half smile. More like a smirk.

Geez! I could feel my heart twitching hopelessly when I saw his smirk.

He really needs to stop smiling like that, I can't resist it anymore.

“So, Nicky, Where are you going in haste that you couldn't see our carriage coming until you bumped into it?" Reagan asked me after a few seconds of silence.

I knew he would ask!

I knew he would surely ask that embarrassing question because my excuse is so stupid! Who runs blindly? Who? No one!

“I uhmm..” I stuttered embarrassingly.

I can't possibly tell him that I ran away from home right?

“I really was just exercising,” I kept my lame excuse out because I couldn't think of a better one.

“Exercising? Blind exercising, hm?" he asked, looking calmly into my eyes.

“Yes, blind exercising. It's a thing. If you don't believe me, that's on you,” I quickly replied and silently prayed that he doesn't talk about it anymore.

After some minutes I felt my leg begin to ache, and I couldn't help but wince.

It hurts,

“Are you okay?” Reagan asked, immediately grabbing my feet to massage my injured leg.

“I am, it's just... before I could finish my sentence another wave of pain hits me.

“Do you want me to help you look at it?”

“No no no, we will soon get to my pack. I will get myself a healer,” I quickly rejected his help because I didn't believe he had a gentle method to soothe my pain.

Not long after, we reached my pack house, and we immediately went to the Alpha’s house.

When we got to the Alpha’s house, I saw my dad talking to his Beta but I couldn't hear what they were saying because I was peeping from the carriage.

Why is he outside! Ah! How do I quietly go back without seeing him?

“Should we get down now?” Reagan asked and immediately I dropped the carriage curtains.

I groaned inwardly but still nodded because I knew I can't stay hidden in the carriage forever and my leg hurts so much.

“Can you walk?” Reagan asked and I nodded again.

I'm too embarrassed to form a sentence.

I can't believe I ran away from home because I don't wanna marry him but I still ended up meeting him on the way and now he brought me back home.

I tried to stand up and walk but I limped and stumbled on him and we both fell back to the carriage seat.

“Ouch,” I cried out in pain again as the pain in my leg increased.

“Are you alright?” I heard Reagan’s worried voice, and I slowly raised my head up to see his tensed face.

That was when I noticed our embarrassing position. I was laying on his chest and his hands were on my waist.

Before I could detangle myself from him, I heard a knock on the carriage door.

“Hello...? You are in my house,” I heard my father's voice outside the door.

I immediately felt another touch of embarrassment fill my whole body.

I quickly detangled myself from Reagan and adjusted his robe that he puts on my naked body after I shifted back to my human form.

I was expecting Reagan to open the carriage door but he didn't.

Soon after, I heard my father's voice discussing with the other voice I heard when I was playing death.

Dolphus or what did Reagan call him earlier?

I don't know what he discussed with my dad but the next time I heard my fathers voice, it was laced with respect.

“Greetings to the Alpha King,” I heard my father's voice coming from the door again.

But Reagan didn't answer. He was just staring foolishly at me.

“Are you ready to go out now?” I spoke to him gently.

Had he been waiting for me?

Awwn, so sweet.

Immediately I nodded, he carried me in a bridal style out of the carriage.

When I saw my father's face, I almost buried myself in Reagan’s chest.

“Anika! There you are! I thought you ran away.”

I scowled at my father and winked at him, gesturing to him not to talk about my spontaneous escape but he blatantly ignored me.

“You know her?” Reagan asked, his dark, cold eyes moving from my father to me.

“Ofcourse, I do. She's my daughter,”

Ah. Bursted!!

I nearly cried when I raised my head up and saw that Reagan was looking at me.

“Do you know why I'm here, Limores?” Reagan asked after giving me his half-smirk that I found so alluring.

“Yes, Alpha King,” I heard my father’s voice again. “She's injured?” He flinched and scowled at me when he saw my wound.

Reagan sighed, adjusting me better in his arms. “Yes, she bumped into our carriage and dislocated her hind leg,” He explained to my father because I was still shamefully hiding in his embrace.

“Let's go inside the house.” My father scowled at me before escorting Reagan and his companion inside the Alpha's house.

“Anika!” My mother’s frantic voice was the first thing I heard immediately after we got inside.

This time I raised my head up from Reagan’s chest. I wanted to talk but I couldn't say anything when my mom started bombarding me with questions.

“Why did you run out like that?!”

“What happened to your leg,”

“Did you overhear our conversation?”

“Are you okay?”

“Is your injury serious? Why is he carrying you?

The question just keeps coming.

“Mama, I'm here now and alive but if I answer all your questions, I will run out of breath?" I replied as Reagan walked over to one of the couches and gently put me on it.

“Thank you,” I whispered and he winked at me. Making me blush to my ears.

“Greeting, My Alpha king,” I heard my mother pay her greeting as if she just noticed that Reagan was in the room.

“How is the preparation going?”

What preparation is he talking about? I blinked before I realized that he must be talking about the wedding preparation.

“My wife and I haven't started getting ready for the wedding yet.” My father replied curtly. His voice revealed a bit of weakness and reluctance.

“If I remember correctly, I sent my words in the morning,” Reagan replied, his cold voice sending shivers down my spine.

My body flickered slightly on the couch and I swallowed in fear.

Why is he getting angry? It's not my parents fault, it was the one who ran away. How can they make wedding preparations when the bride is on the run?

“Yes, but it will take at least 3 days to prepare for it because she's my only pup and I want her wedding to be massive.” My father replied.

“Oh,” Reagan drawled, throwing me a look.

“Hey, you there, help your miss to her room and get the pack healer to treat her injured leg,” My father said to one of my maids and she quickly came to help me upstairs.

I glanced at Reagan when I was going and saw him smile at me. I couldn't help but smile back because of how enchanting his smile is.

Amy will be so jealous when I tell her who my mate is!
