Reagan’s POV

“What are you doing? I don't like that flower, cut some rose flowers and put it there.”

“And you, have you found someone to repaint the house?”

Anika will be here very soon. I already received a letter from Limores when they left, and they should be here anytime from now.

“Amoux, do you have wolves waiting at the border to tell us when she arrived?” I asked Beta who was also helping in the redecoration of the house.

So many pack members were also helping, they were happy they would finally have a Luna. Even the pups were very excited.

But it was the old wolves who knew how long we’ve suffered over 400 years without a Luna that was more happier. She gave everyone a special tonic that elevates their energy to work as any tonic from her is a blessing.

When I got back yesterday, I hunted for the biggest animals I could find and asked the maids to share it among all my pack members' wolves and if it's not enough, I will hunt for more.

I want everybody to be happy because I'm also happy.

I knew that they would be wondering about the sudden change in me but I wasn’t worried.

I was just surprised at their eagerness to go with me and meet Anika at the border and bring her to the pack.

I can’t wait to see her, make love to her, and mark her, then proudly show her off as my Luna.

We giving final touches to the preparations when I saw a lone wolf limping with three other wolves.

I didn't recognize the wolves but the lone wolf was very similar and had the same furs as Dolphus.

“Is that Dolphus?” Amoux said as if echoing my mind.

Before I could answer, the wolf got closer and was now very observable.

It was Dolphus.

It was really Dolphus!

I quickly looked at his back for any sign of Anika but I didn't see anything like her.

My heart skipped instantly.

The closer he gets, the more the smell of rogues around him stinks in the air.

Anika

“Where's Anika!” I sent a mind link to Dolphus immediately but he slumped down before he could reply.

“Fetch the Pack healer. Now!” I yelled anyone as Amoux and I rushed towards our other friend.

No..

No! Dolphus mustn't die.

The closer we got to him, the more visible the paw scratched on him became clearer and scary.

He was badly wounded. His hind legs were severely injured too.

“Let’s take him inside,” I ordered Amoux when I still didn't see any sign of Anika.

I looked back again when we got to the house but there wasn't still no sign of her.

My heart can't help but feel uneasy, I was in a state of turmoil.

I looked at the three wolves that came with Dolphus, they’ve shifted back to their human forms.

I saw that there any scratches on their body like Dolphus and I couldn't help but feel baffled.

“They are the wolves I left at the border to inform us when Luna comes.”

Amoux brought me out of my misery.

“Where did you see Dolphus?” I asked one of the wolves as we left the room for the healer to treat Dolphus.

“We found limping towards the border. He was already severely harmed and half-dead, he only kept on saying run, run, run…”

That was when it snapped in my head.

They were attacked!

By rogues!

My own Gemma and my mate were attacked by rogues?!

The audacity was what amazed me, even a reborn rogue will never move an inch closer to my border because of how ruthlessly I kill any rogues or any enemies, but some actually dared!

“A little girl…did you see a little girl with him? She's around 18, she has black hair, round face. Brown eyes.” I quickly described Anika to them.

But they only shook their heads.

“No, he was alone.

“Then where the hell is my mate?!” I shouted thunderously at them.

They were supposed to bring her here!

She's supposed to be here!

Where's she? Where's she!!

“Reagan, calm them. Maybe Dolphus hid her somewhere, we can't be sure yet. Let's wait till Dolphus wakes up,” Amoux tried to calm me but I couldn't shake off the dreadful feeling that clouded her mind.

“Yes, yes. You are right, let's wait.” I let out back absentmindedly.

I saw Amoux gesture for the wolves to leave and went out to tell everyone to go back down for now, but I couldn’t move.

I felt stiff, my whole body couldn't change positions.

Amoux came and dragged me back into my chamber and I stayed there till the Pack healer's sent a mind link that Dolphus had woken up.

I immediately rushed to his room to check on him with Amoux on my heels.

I pushed the door open without knocking and immediately rushed inside.

“Alpha King,”

“Reagan,”

I heard the Pack healer and Dolphus called me in sync.

“Where's Anika?” That was the first thing that came out of my mouth.

“She’s not here?” I heard Dolphus let out in a low voice.

“What did you mean?!” I snapped at him. “Is she not with you?”

“No, she's not. She left. I helped her escape, I told her to continue going East until she would see the Alpha King Symbol.” Dolphus explained as he started coughing repeatedly.

“I suggest you let him rest, My Alpha, else it might be dangerous to his health,” The Pack healer said to me slowly as she fed Dolphus some black medicine.

“Reagan, let’s wait outside,” Amoux muttered and at the same time dragged me out.

“I want all my soldiers out there, tell everyone to search for her. Get her portrait and find her.

She must be found!” I ordered thunderously and immediately rushed out and shifted into my wolf form.

I will also dig through the earth to find her. No matter where she is, I will bring her home.

I waited over 400 years for her, and I just met two days ago and now she’s missing? Moon goddess, why?

Why did you choose to torment me this way?

Please, let her be safe.

If it's because of my illness and you didn't want me to be cured, I don't mind dying a miserable death but let her be safe.

Please!

I kept mumbling and mumbling while I sniffed the ground with my nose.

I recalled how she smelled when she hugged me, and while we were kissing. I immediately spread it out and went to where it had the loftiest scent.

It was coming from the West.

Why was she in the West?

I didn't have time to think much about it as I galloped into the forest, I could hear my soldiers howling. They were getting closer to me.

Maybe they pursued my scent.

I was running in the forest when my eyes flashed in the twilight night.

I saw a familiar piece of fabric hanging on a branch of a thorny tree.

I went closer and checked it, it was Vicuna wool. One of the fabrics that I gave to Anika as her betrothal gift along with many others.

She really came to the West!

But Dolphus said he told her to keep running along the East.

It wasn’t long after I saw the piece of fabrics that I saw lines of blood on the pathway.

It looked like the trail of an injured person,

I halt in my tracks and I back away subconsciously.

I looked forward and I saw that it was a dead end.

After the pathway, it was only a cliff that was visible.

I was able to trace the lines of the blood at the edge of the cliff and my heart skipped a beat.

I eyed the bottom but I couldn’t see anything.

All I saw was a huge pit.

If she jumped down from here, she wouldn’t make it.

Immediately after I ascertained that fact, I felt my whole world crash.

A few days after

Red Moon Pack

Eira’s POV

It has been two days since I left my pack to get medicinal plants for my dad’s illness. It started some days ago.

I wasn't aware of the sickness as early because I went to our packhouse to help the pack healer treat some wolves.

I'm always busy treating one wolf or the other because I'm a healer and it's my passion to see others get healed and live in good health.

When I was younger and haven't discovered my healing talent, I've always been an extroverted person.

I love going out of my way to help others, even as I was just a daughter of a common werewolf.

I'm Eira Ralph, the first daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ralph. My parents are the true definition of “best parent of the year”.

They've been supportive and never for once judged me for going out of my way to help people even though I always come back tired.

The only person I have a problem within my family is my younger sister, Carla.

Carla was born a year after me, and because of the close gap between us, we grew up together as friends. But all of a sudden, after I discovered my healing talent, Carla and I started having repeated misunderstandings.

We never for once agreed on something and I always have to give in to her because I was the older sister and I can't be unreasonable.

Our parents tried to bridge the gap between us, but Carla didn't listen and we were always at each other's throats.

Even though we were sisters, we are very different from one another.

My sister's hair is brown and wavy while mine is black and straight, type A. I have blue eyes while my sister's eyes are golden brown.

Apart from the fact that I shared the same color of hair and eyes as my father, I had no resemblance to anyone in my family.

Now back to father's illness.

When I got back home a few days ago, my father was still okay or that's what I thought until three days ago when he started vomiting and complaining of stomach pain and migraine.

It wasn't long that he started losing his appetite. He couldn't eat no matter what my mother cooked for him.

I was very worried because I've already given him the medicine soup I always prepared for his stomach aches and headache, but it wasn't effective.

That was when I suspected that his illness wasn't just some normal stomach ache or chest pain, it was typhoid.

Typhoid is the latest rarest disease in our pack because our Pack water source is one of the best in all the Eastern Packs.

We are also known for our fine soil and good land, so I was very surprised when I diagnosed my father with typhoid because I would never have imagined it.

In our pack, the case of typhoid patients is very rare and most healers wouldn't even know how to treat it except if they've once treated someone with the exact or similar illness.

I have some of the ingredients to make the medicinal soup for my father except some vital ones like Dandelion, Neem leaves and goldenseal, which I couldn't find in the market.

So, I had to go look for it in the mountains.

I was passing by the Pack House on my way back when I heard a woman shouting for someone to help her pup.

Several werewolves already gathered around the woman that I almost couldn't find my way in.

I think the pack healer wasn't around because the woman didn't stop yelling for help.

“Please help my pup, he's dying. He's really dying,”
