Chapter 21: Don't touch her

River POV;

I awoke to Alex shaking me out of my deep sleep. I was startled but didn't react when I saw the look on his face. It made me wonder what the matter was.

"Wake up, your sister is here," he says.

"What? Caroline is here?" I confusedly ask rubbing my eyes.

"Listen River, having you here as a human is a great risk that I decided to take because you are my mate, but your sister here is something that could start a war. She said something about your phone checking in here. You have to get her out of here and make sure she never returns," Alex warns tossing clothes from the closet at me. "Change quickly, she is already on her way inside the house"

"Get out, I will be there in a minute," I tell him.

I was excited about seeing my sister, but I knew what these creatures could do to her and her family. I decided to obey which was highly unlike me. I also hoped that by acting out, my sister would understand that something was wrong and try to get help and get me out of there.
