Chapter 26: Freed

Blue

"You're free to go."

I stood outside the police station, and considered my next move. I climbed down the stairs of the precinct and saw Ever's car out front.

I rushed to hide behind a pillar, backing into the corner because I didn't think I could handle a run in with Ever. She hated my guts apparently.

I peered around the pillar and saw Ever's beautiful beast of a car zoom off. I relaxed s little more. That meant Ever was gone. And I could now leave the precinct without her even seeing me. She still believed me to be involved in this somehow.

I came out of the pillar when the car drove off, letting out a sigh of relief. Now I don't have to say anything to Ever.

I turned to start walking, when I saw her. Ever, she watched me with eyes that were like daggers.

My heart started racing again. Ever still thought I had something to do with Blue going missing. I could almost feel her staring at me as though trying to see into my soul through my skin.
