Chapter 6

Jake ~

“So it finally happened, uh?”

I swallowed the lump in my throat, taking a second before turning to see the person who had interrupted my alone time. I slid my hands into my pocket, a strain smile laid on my lips as I looked at him.

He released a breathe, eyes straying to the portrait behind me. "What do you plan to do? It would be very difficult especially with what has happened.” He voiced out. I agree, the plan is risky.

Who am I kidding? The plan is extremely risky but then what can I do? “Life is difficult already as it is.” I say quietly, walking past him to the table, bending lightly and picked the glass I had placed there earlier.

“Are you even listening to me, Jake? I know we agreed to take Williams down but with what’s happened, I don’t think we sho-“ he didn’t get to complete his sentence. The glass in my hands fell to the ground, shattered.

I watched the particles of broken glass on the floor, a sigh escaping my lips.

“So what are you saying, uncle?” I asked, turnin
