Elena ~

“Welcome back, Elena.”

Alpha Jason, Luna and their daughter stood right outside the pack house to welcome us. The alpha had the biggest smile on his face. He had a full regalia on while his wife was dressed in the traditional Luna outfit, they both seemed very different from how they were.

His gaze fell on me, taking every inch of my appearance.

“Thank you , Alpha Jason for welcoming us into your humble abode so nicely.” Jake says, interrupting the weird look Jason was giving me. Well, it wasn’t that weird but having him smile like he didn’t just trade my life made me squirm uncomfortably. Watching him and his mate look at me like I wasn’t traded cheaply only stirred up something bitter in me.

“Please come in, I’m sure you’re both tired and need to rest.” The Luna says, hand grazing my arm lightly as we walked into the pack house, like I said, things have become very different here.
