Ever since the battle, everything had returned to normal. The weather was nice and I seemed more happy.

My relationship with Xavier had progressed tremendously, so much so that we could barely stay apart from each other. We were like two pieces in a puzzle.

However, amidst the happiness and joy, Hailey was a mess. She refrained from interacting with anyone and remained cooped up in her room.

I was beginning to grow concerned. This wasn't the Hailey I was familiar with and I knew it had something to do with that night and Alanna's reappearance.

I knew I had to do something to cheer her up, so I took a walk to her room and knocked softly on the oak door.

As expected, there was no response from her end but my mind was made up and I had already decided that I'd spend time with her, so I slowly pushed the door, which was thankfully, open.
