CARTER

"Something's wrong with Hailey," Xavier said from the other end, "She's not waking up. You have to come now, Carter."

Even after Xavier dropped the call, I still held the phone to my ear, as shock overcame me.

"What's wrong?" Alanna furrowed her brows as she observed me closely.

"H.. Hailey, S.. she's," I tried to speak but I couldn't even form a proper sentence as the news made me disoriented.

"Calm down. Breath," Alanna said, and waited for me to do as she instructed, "Now tell me, what's wrong with Hailey?"

"X..Xavier called to say that she's not getting up. I..I don't know what to do. I'm so scared," I divulged.

"Relax, nothing will happen to her." Alanna comforted me and then I grabbed my keys and headed the garage.

"I'll come with you," She said, leaving no room for arguments. Not that I'd have argued anyway. The only thing that clouded my mind was Hailey.

In no time, we got to Xavier's and just as he said, Hailey laid motionless on the bed.

"I..is she d..dead?" My lips q
