chapter three

~EARLIER THAT NIGHT~

~KARLA~

That night, Jason didn't come back to meet me and I couldn't have been happier.

Jessie had come by earlier to open the door for me and had told me Jason was busy with work so it was the perfect time for me to escape.

I grabbed the bread knife I had kept earlier and held it in my hand as I pushed the door open carefully. It was a large steel door so it made a lot of noise but luckily, no one was there.

I did a double take before sprinting through the halls. There was no use wasting time, I needed to get out of here.

I halted with a gasp when I saw some men and immediately hid behind a wall as they walked past.

“I wonder what's going on? Where did Boss go with the others?" I heard one of them mutter, making me furrow my eyebrows. Jason wasn't here?

“I don't know but good riddance we weren't among" Their voices faded and I took a deep breath before peeping to see if anyone else was coming. When I saw no one, I made a run towards the stairs and ran as fast as I could. My ankle was still aching badly but the adrenaline pumping through my veins was powerful.

I almost let out a cry of hope when I saw the entrance. Finally I was going to be free.

Upon reaching the door, I heard a voice behind me and my blood ran cold.

“What are you doing outside of your room and where do you think you're going?" My whole body shook as I turned around to face Jason. My eyes widened and I backed up until my back hit the door. I thought he wasn't around?!

“Ja… Jason? What are… what are you doing here?" I questioned and he glared at me.

“Are you trying to run away from me?" I shook my head frantically with my eyes wide.

“No I…" Just then, Jessie came from nowhere, pulled out a gun and shut Jason right in the arm.

Everyone gasped as Jason fell to the ground which a groan while I stood there in shock. What just happened?

“Run Karla. Run!" She heard and something snapped inside me, bringing me back into reality. I glanced at her one last time before pushing the door and running out of the warehouse.

I gasped as I heard multiple gunshots and I knew something bad had happened to Jessie. Tears fell down my cheeks as I ran towards the back gate Jason had once shown me when we first started dating. It was hardly ever being guarded so I knew I could get out through there.

“Find her Now!" My eyes widened when I heard Jason's scream and then the stomping of feet as they ran after me.

I ran through the back gate and for the first time, I finally felt like I could breathe. I wanted to stop and admire the night sky and breathe in some fresh air but now wasn't the time. I needed to be sure I was safe.

I cried out as a bullet flew right past me, hitting the car at my side. I briefly turned around and let out a gasp when I saw Jason's angry red eyes staring back at him as he ran towards me. If it weren't for all the people on the road, I was sure he would have changed into his wolf and pounced on me.

I looked up ahead and squinted my eyes at the neon sign lights ahead and immediately ran towards it. They were close on my heels, I needed somewhere to hide.

Jason was avoiding shooting carelessly so he wouldn't touch an innocent citizen. It wasn't because he cared but he didn't want to draw attention to himself so that meant I needed to be where a lot of people were.

The building with the neon sign had a lot of people at the entrance so I assumed that had to be the same situation on the inside.

I briefly glanced behind me and I let out a gasp after noticing just how close they were. I quickly rushed in, pushing past the sweaty bodies in front of me.

I glanced behind me again before running through a hall that was full with people making out. I tried opening the numerous doors I saw but all of them seemed to be closed.

I glanced behind me and let out a sigh when I couldn't see Jason or his goons. It seemed I had lost him in the swarm of bodies.

I decided to try one last door at the end of the door and when it opened, I let out a sigh of relief before running in. I banged the door behind me then backed up slowly while still staring at the door.

When I turned around, my face collided with something hard and I found myself falling down. Strong arms wrapped around my waist as I let out a gasp.

I squeezed my eyes shut and only opened it when I had stopped falling. I glanced down at the man below me and for some reason, his presence reassured me.

He had the safe aura around him that ease my troubles which surprised me. I've never felt this way with anyone, especially since I just met him.

“Please, save me. I need you to hide me" Confusion etched on his face while he stared into my eyes. I tried reading his expression, a skill I had developed overtime with Jason but I couldn't. His expression was... empty.

“I'm not into the whole hide and seek roleplay. I want to see all of you and I mean every inch" I froze as I stared at him with wide eyes.

“Wha… what?" He grazed his thumb against my bottom lips with desire and lust in his eyes.

“I want to see just how pleasurable these lips of yours can be" The blood drained off my face as I stared at him in shock.

No! Not again!...
