Chapter 29

Hannah was gone, and I wasn't human anymore. In less than twenty-four hours all our lives changed majorly stunning all of us into silence. The silence wasn't even awkward, there was no where to start the conversation. So silence would just have to do.

I walked to Levi's room to take a minute to gather my thoughts. I was starting to feel myself again –emotionally– but it felt like I now had an alter ego.

My vampire side that would take control at the scent of human blood. I had no control over it. The blood left my mind with no room to reason. It was a demanding, self-consuming force and I was afraid because I didn't know who this other half of me was or how far it was going to go to get that drop of blood.

It was safer for the students if I didn't go outside for a while. The last thing I wanted was a mass slaughter on my hands. I was so used to protecting the school from threats and now I was one of their biggest threats.

I shut the bedroom door behind me and fell back on the bed.
