Chapter 24

It was a beautiful sunny day and my family as per usual on sunny days like this— where the sun wasn't too hot and the wind was just right— took advantage of nature's kindness and had a picnic.

Eleanora and Hera were making hot dogs on the grill. While Levi was keeping Mia and Parker occupied by playing a game of catch.

My brothers were at the docks handling the shipping company they ran together. They got along okay with Levi. They all weren't best friends but at least they weren't trying to kill each other and that was all I could ask for.

Baby steps.

I sat on the stairs sipping iced lemonade with my shades covering my eyes as I watched Levi chase Mia and Parker around. Something I can scratch off my 'never thought I would see' list.

Levi was different here, maybe it was the fact that he was playing in the sun, and not clinging to the shadows or maybe it was how carefree he looked.

How human he appeared to be.

I would be lying if I said I loved before Levi and I'd be a liar if
