Chapter Twenty-two

Thomson tapped Mara once again. Then, she gained her thoughts.

"Why are you so lost in thought? What are you thinking about?" Thomson asked.

"Nothing. I'm just worried a bit," Mara said, putting a smile on her face.

"Can you please explain what happened?" The policeman asked.

"I have told you that I'm innocent. I don't know anything. What happened is what Thomson said. I don't have anything else to say about it," Mara said.

"Alright, thanks so much for your cooperation," the policeman said as he left the investigation room.

Meanwhile, William was sleeping with his wife when a call suddenly entered his phone. This woke Emilia up.

"Who's calling you at this time of the day?" Emilia asked as she stood up.

William was speechless. It was Jennifer, who had been waiting for him in a hotel.

Emilia sat down properly.

"Is it the lady that called you before? William, what the hell are you doing with the lady? Why can't you block her number and forget about her? How dare she call my husband at th
