Chapter Nineteen

Mara rushed out of Thomson's car. Her phone was about to switch off already.

"Can you please turn your car's lights to the left? I think I saw something," Mara said.

"What did you see? Is something wrong?" Thomson asked, looking worried.

Thomson turned his car's lights to the left, and Mara saw something that left her speechless. It was her father's car.

She quickly got out of the car and started heading towards the river. Thomson held her back.

"Why would my father's car be here?" Mara asked, going back and forth.

She couldn't imagine what could have happened. She was very surprised. She hoped nothing had happened.

She kept trying to go towards the river, and Thomson kept stopping her.

He shouted at her, "Your father will be safe. Is this how you are going to solve the problem? What if it's not your father's car?"

Mara yelled back, "Don't tell me that it's not his car. Why won't I recognize my father's car? Thomson, let me go and check."

"Check what? What do you want to check exactly?
