Chapter Seventeen

Clara entered Luca's room, covering her body with a towel. Seeing her, Luca got up from the bed and ran towards her.

"I'm sorry for treating you that way," Luca said, gazing at her.

She replied, "Why did you treat me like that? I'm the head of your secret agent, and I'm also your lover. Why did you slap me?"

Luca was speechless.

"I was a bit scared when you mentioned Emilia. You know that Emilia is William's wife," Luca said.

"Are you scared of William or his wife? I only mentioned Emilia's name, and you slapped me. What did I do to deserve that from you?" Clara said.

"Let's forget about that. I'm not scared of anybody. I'm just a little angry because of what you did," Luca said.

"No... you said that you are a bit scared. Are you scared of William?" Clara asked.

"It's not like that, Clara. Why would I be scared of him?" Luca said, moving her closer to himself.

"Is it because he is more powerful than you? Is that the reason why you are scared of him?" Clara asked.

"Something like that.
