Chapter 1: One Night

9pm. Glitters Event.

"Amazing, you all should give it up for these wonderful models." The guest speaker said as he hailed the models who had never stopped slaying on different dresses that night.

Lily was worried sick inside, but she still had to look as bright and as cheerful as ever as eighty percent of the eyes in the hall was only her.

Slaying, she bounced as she got to the center of the stage on high heels and poised for the cameras in different ways.

Under a large applause, she smoothly cat walked out of the hall. That was the last walk for that night.

Getting into her room, she tried to pull off the tight dress on her.

"Hold on Lily, I am here!" Her manager said, rushing to help her undress.

"Thanks Anita!" she said, feeling grateful.

"You really don't have to thank me all the time. By the way, you were awesome tonight. Just as always." Anita praised.

"Exactly and that's more reason I have to thank you always. Thank you! You made this possible." Lily said, staring deeply into Anita's eyes.

"That's by the way. Why do you look sad somehow?" Anita asked as she noticed Lily's usual bright eyes didn't glitter as it always does.

"I'm worried about Thelma. She was supposed to be among us this night, but she wasn't and I have no idea why."

Anita: "..."

Anita didn't know what to say about it. She never cared about Thelma so all of that was definitely not her business.

"I think I should go check on her. Something may be wrong you know." she suggested.

Putting on her regular dress, she took her bag and worked out of the event following the back door.

Anita followed behind when she was done and quickly rushed to the front driver seat and started the car.

The car stopped at Thelma's simple door. Coming down, she rushed out of the vehicle to check up on her.

On getting to the door, she didn't see any sign that Thelma would be inside. Giving up, she turned to leave, but on a second step, she heard voices.

Lily then walked to the window by the side of the house gently and peeped.

On seeing what was going on inside, she froze.

The room lights were on but on every other place, it was dark. If she probably hadn't heard that sound, she probably would never have moved to the side of the house.

Lily couldn't breath for a moment. She needed explanation of what was going on. Watching them, tears streamed down her face.

"Liam, give me more!"

"Thelma, we should pause, Lily may come looking for you."

"I don't care about that bitch. Didn't you say you love me or do you love her now?" Thelma said.

"Hell no, you know it's only you I love. Come here!" he then said.

Lily held her chest. It felt like her heart would jump out of it. Covering her mouth with her other hand, she bent and sat on the Sandy floor, stranded.

Anita could not make out what was going on there, stepping down from the car she ran to Lily.

When she got there, her eyes caught the two couples making out. Like she wasn't surprised. She took some pictures, bent down and picked up Lily.

Anita gently sat Lily in the front passenger seat and drove her to her house. Packing her car at the garage, she then turned to speak with Lily.

"Lily..."

"There's really nothing to say. We will see tomorrow. Have a good night." Lily then said before she came down from the vehicle.

"I'll help you in!" Anita offered and quickly came down and assisted Lily to her room.

Laying on her bed, "Lily, this is not the end of the road. I believe there are better things ahead." tapping her on her shoulders, she left.

Lily still couldn't believe her sight anymore as everything played out over and over again.

She then curled up on her bed with a plan to start fresh the next day.

In tears, she dozed off.

The next day Lily work up brighter than ever. Promising herself a better life, she had her wash up and drove to Atlantis restaurant to have her breakfast there.

Immediately she got to the restaurant, her phone rang.

"Hello!"

"Hi Lily! Where are you?" Anita's worried tone came through.

"Atlantis. Can you come over?"

"I'm almost there."

"it's good you are already there."

"Okay. I'll order some food for us." Hanging up the phone, she placed her car well and walked into the luxurious restaurant.

Lily was on a pure white short dress when she cat walked into the restaurant with her thin figure, unknowingly gathering so much attention.

Master Chris was having a business meeting with his important associates when Lily walked in. Stuck, he couldn't take his eyes off her.

Lily walked to a corner and sat down as a waitress walked up to her.

"What will you like to have ma'am? This is the menu of the day." she said, hanging the menu over to Lily.

Lily quickly picked the dishes that would be enough for her and Anita. After a few minutes, Anita walked in.

"Lily, look who's over there." Anita then said when she noticed how Master Chris could not take his eyes off her.

"I don't need that right now and you know it." Lily responded, waving that aside.

Master Chris was mesmerized as he watched Lily picked up her food bit by bit. She looked so clean and elegant.

Her black hair curled all the way to her waist, making her look like a royal queen of a kingdom. Her height was a big cherry on top as she had the best height an American model should.

Turning to his assistant who was sitting by his side, "I need every single information about that young woman."

"Yes master!"

Master Chris then turned to his business partners and focused on what he was doing earlier.
