Chapter 5: Interview

Ummm... Yes, I was!"

"Come in." he then said and walked back into the study room.

He had seen her patrolling and guessed she was looking for him.

Walking into the study room, she tried to look at his face once but couldn't.

"I don't bite." Master Chris then said, looking into her eyes.

"I want to thank you for saving my life. I don't know what would have become of me if you weren't there last night. Thank you so much master Chris." she said, genuinely feeling grateful.

Master couldn't stop looking at her as he was carried away by her beauty.

How could someone be this beautiful?

"If you are that grateful, why don't you marry me?" he asked.

Lily froze.

Marry him?

Lily felt like she would cough out blood at that moment. Marriage wasn't something she was interested in going into at that moment.

Like knowing what she was thinking, "I never meant to make things hard for you. I have an offer. Can you be my wife for one year for an exchange of one billion dollars?" he asked politely.

Lily became dumbfounded.

Be his wife for one year for an exchange of one billion dollars?

If she had one billion dollars, she was sure she would be in another level.

She was only twenty-four. She needed to get to a certain level before she would retire from modelling. That money could place her high above Liam.

At the thought of that, she decided to attend. She was already heartbroken, there was nothing to think for anymore.

"I accept them, that's if you promise that I won't be mistreated."

"You won't. I am here for you." he assured her. She then felt relieved. She trusted he had no reason to use her.

Picking up his phone, he called assistant Ray and instructed him to hurry up.

In less than two hours, Master Chris lawyers and Assistant Ray were already at the sitting room waiting on them to come down.

Soon, they went down and in less than twenty minutes, the contract and marriage certificate were already signed. The lawyers then congratulated them and left.

Looking at the certificate in her hand, Lily smiled. Just like that, she was already a married woman.

She didn't think she regretted her decision. Even if she wanted to, it was already late.

She then decided to move forward with her life. Picking up her phone, she went up the stairs to the guest room to speak with Anita.

Only her deserved to be the first to know every good thing that entered her life.

"Anita, I am still in shock." she said almost in tears.

"Girl, there is no need for that. I am super proud of you. Hold on, what am I still doing here. I will be there in a minute." she said to Lily, ending the call quickly.

Anita made her way to Olympic Estate and under an hour, she got there.

Looking into Lily's eyes, Anita felt proud of her.

"How did you do this so soon?"

"Anita, it's a contract marriage. One year of marriage and I will have one billion dollars. What do you think?"

Anita froze.

That sounded like a good idea though.

"I have something to say Lily."

"Go on!"

"Liam already organised an interview for you. What are you going to do about this?"

At the mention of Liam, Lily froze.

After some seconds, she came back to her senses.

"I will attend. For sure I will clear his name." she said sarcastically.

Anita felt amused. She could already understood what Lily meant.

"We are good to go then!"

"When is the interview?"

"Tonight!"

I'll come pick you up later this evening, until then, I have to go pick up your important belongings.

"Anita, thanks a whole lot."

"It's fine Lily."

Later that evening, Anita appeared at Olympic Estate and picked up Lily.

On getting to the venue, it was already 7:50pm.

The interview was to start at exactly 8pm.

At the back stage, the makeup artist did some simple touch-up on Lily's face so she could be ready to go.

Lily did not need those heavy makeup or costumes. She was a very simple model yet elegant and unique.

At 7:58pm, Lily was done and needed to make her way to the stage.

"Good luck Lily!" Anita wished her.

Smiling, she walked into the stage and sat down.

Soon, the interview started.

There was a loud cheer from the congregation. Lily's fans were sure not to miss this special moment.

Smiling, she waved at them.

"Thank you!" she shouted.

The host was a woman popularly known as Miss Cross. Miss Cross had been hearing about Lily for a while and really liked her, so it was no surprise the way she smiled at Lily.

Miss Cross: "It feels really cool to have you here Lily."

Lily: "Same here Miss Cross, I mean I love you."

The congregation laughed at loudest their exchange of words.

Miss Cross: "I must say you are a very beautiful Model. Those figures there, damn I wish they were mine."

The congregation laughed.

Lily: "We could actually switch bodies you know."

Fans laughed louder.

From the congregation: "I love you Lily!"

Lily: looking towards the congregation. "I love you too mehn! You have no idea!"

Everyone applauded her...

Miss Cross: "How has Modelling been so far?"

Lily: "It's been pretty good, I must say. My determination keeps pushing me. Every morning when I'm up, I always look forward to what the future holds for me."

Miss Cross: "I know it's not easy, but I wanna ask this. Don't be offended but you these questions I'm asking you, I'm pretty sure your fans needs answers to them."

Lily: nodding her head, "Sure! That's right!"

Miss Cross: "How do you mix you personal life with work?"

As the interview was going on, Liam in his office didn't take his eyes off Lily and the host as he needed to see for himself how Lily would clear the air.
