Chapter 4

I managed to get some sleep, but I still do not have a solution.

My mother came knocking on my door first thing in the morning.

“Have you opened the present? Did you like it?”

I remained where I was with a pale face, as though I was mentally retarded.

“I opened it,” I lied as I had no idea what my mother gave me, “I… like it. Now let me sleep some more.”

After that, I slammed the door shut.

When I returned to my room, the bed was empty. Then I heard someone in the bathroom.

As I saw the looming figure, a shiver ran down my spine.

‘He’s awake. I’m doomed.’

I restlessly paced back and forth, wondering how on earth do I get him out of the house without anyone noticing him. I was also thinking if it would be possible to make him not hold me accountable for what happened last night.

The next second, he stepped out of the bathroom butt naked.

I was instantly blinded.

“You…” My instinct brought me straight to the door, and I locked it from the inside. “Why aren’t you wearing anything?”

He leisurely walked to the bed and covered himself with the blanket. He then threw me a glance lazily and said, “I have no clothes.”

I felt helplessly numb.

“Did you come here naked yesterday?” I was about to cry out loud.

“I drank too much and puked on my clothes.” He nonchalantly leaned against the bed frame and played with his phone.

From the looks of it, he was expecting me to figure something out.

I was this close to going crazy.

“Wait here.” I quickly got changed without even bothering to brush my teeth or take a bath. Before I dashed out the door, I anxiously reminded him, “Don’t leave this room. Just lock the door and ignore anyone who comes knocking.”

“As you wish.” He looked at me with amusement and was surprisingly obedient.

Just as I stepped out, I ran into my mother. I got shocked and placed myself in front of the door like a guard.

“Why is your face so flushed?” She was holding breakfast and gesturing for me to have some.

“I’m just feeling hot.” I desperately fanned myself, bent down to pick up the trash, and left in a hurry.

“Where are you going? What about breakfast?” She was following closely behind me.

“I’m going to take out the trash first.” I kept my head down as I ran for my life.
