Chapter 102: Contractions

“I’m scared,” said Emily. She was looking wearily at Joshua one morning in their bed.

Joshua woke up to Emily’s worried voice and said, “What are you worry about, little one?” He stroked her hair to try to soothe her. Last night he heard her groaning and moaning. He thought she was just having a bad dream, but it turned out it was contractions. She was going into labor. He was surprised that she was handling it rather well. Even he himself was surprised that he was handling everything rather calmly.

In his head he imagined it a hundred times of seeing Emily going to labor and having contractions. He see himself as panicking and worrying himself half to death. But he knows that he needs to be the one who will have to remain calm to ease Emily’s worry away. It’s her who’s going into labor not him. He doesn’t have to deal with any pain or bleeding so he should do his best to relax. He needs to be her strength. This is the part where she needed him the most.
