Chapter 6

Author's POV 

"Is everything ready for the party?" Ethan asked Christian

"Yes, dad" Christian said and put the newspaper on the dining table. 

"James Lockwood he is going to attend the party with his family," Ethan said and looked at Christian

"I don't know about it dad. I didn't get time to check the guest list" Christian said and stood up. 

"Son, I want to discuss something important with you," Ethan said 

"Sure dad, say" Christian said and sat down 

"Not here. Let's go to the study" Ethan said 

"Sure," Christian said then they left from there. 

"Mom, is everything okay? Dad was looking in tension?" Alex asked Mrs. Knight

Mrs. Knight was about to say something when Nathan came there

"Hey brother, how was your first day?" Alex asked him

"Don't ask man. Today, I understood why the employees called him a beast. He made me work like a robot. He didn't even show any mercy on me. He treated me like an employee. I am so tired" Nathan said and Mrs. Knight gave him a glass of juice. 

"Thank you mom," Nathan said and felt the tension in the air. 

"What happened, mom? Is everything okay? Alex, where are dad and Christian?" Nathan asked. 

"Son, you both also need to know this matter," Mrs. Knight said 

"What is it, mom?" Nathan asked

"Your grandfather made a deal, sixty years ago with his friend," Mrs. Knight said 

In the study room

"What deal, dad? And why are you telling me this after sixty years? He made deal with grandfather" Christian asked his dad. 

"Your grandfather used to work in a company before starting his own company. When your grandfather wanted to quit his job and start a company everyone discourage him except his only friend. He supported your grandfather. Your grandfather quit his job and ask his relatives to help him financially but everyone turned their backs. Your grandfather took a loan and started the company. But your grandfather was betrayed by a client. Bank was about to take over the company and house when his friend came forward. He gave money to your grandfather. Your grandfather soon gets over the loss. After this, your grandfather wanted to make their friendship relation more strong. Your grandfather and his friend decided they will marry off their children. But he has a son only. So, they signed a contract. According to the contract, one of my sons has to marry his granddaughter. And if we denied we will lose fifty percent company to them. James Lockwood your grandfather's friend's son. And he has a daughter. He wanted you to marry her daughter. He has chosen you" Ethan blast the boom on Christine's head. 

"Mom, are you serious?" Alex asked after hearing this. 

"What, what the hell is it? Okay, we understood he helped a lot. We can help them in return. Why does Christian need to marry that bitch?" Nathan said in anger. 

"Nathan, watch your language," Alex said

"Sorry mom" Nathan 

"Your father helped them many times. Also, Christian did too. Their family business was about to bankrupt when Christian brought fifty percent shares to save the company. Christian was against it but your dad requested him to do it. Your grandfather's friend was a noble person but his son was not like him" Mrs. Knight said

"They chose Christian because Christian is the CEO of Knight Group of Company. They have chosen him for his position" Alex said

"Do you know that girl, Nathan?' Mrs. Knight asked him. 

"Yes. And she is a bad person. A money-minded person. She dated countless people. And her night history is horrible. Christian is a gem. She doesn't deserve him" Nathan said 

"I'm scared that Christian will agree," Alex said 

"What? Are you out of your mind?" Nathan asked him

"Christian gave his life to this company. The company is his life. He will never let someone take over this company" Alex said when the study room's door opened and an angry Christian came out. His hair was messy and his eyes were red. 

Christian left the mansion in anger. 

Nathan tried to follow him but Alex held him. 

"No. Let him go. He needs space" Alex said when Mr. Knight came there. 

"Honey, how did it go?" Mrs. Knight asked him

"Not well," Mr. Knight said and sat down. 

"Dad, if I not wrong it was the person for whom you asked Christian to move back from the stolen project?" Alex asked him

"Yes," Mr. Knight said 

"Dad, we have helped them multiple times already. Christian worked for six months on that project but in the end, he had to leave it. Dad, Christian can't marry her. And, do you know that girl is not good?" Alex asked him

"Do you think I did not try to solve this matter? Last week I did not go to Australia for business. I went there to talk with James about it. I tried my best but he did not listen. And, his wife is worse than him. She started acting. She said her daughter dreaming to be Christian's wife since she gets to know about this deal" Mr. Knight said 

"Honey, I am worried for Christian," Mrs. Knight said 

"Don't worry about him. He is a responsible man. He is okay and I am sure about it" Mr. Knight said 

"Dad, can't our lawyer do something about it?" Nathan asked 

"No. Your grandfather signed a deal. We can't break it" Mr. Knight said 

"Dad, don't worry. We will find out a way. Don't we know our Christian? He will find a way for sure" Alex said 

"Yes, dad. Alex is right. Christian will find out a way" Nathan said

"We don't have time son. They are coming here tomorrow. And they want Christian to announce their daughter his future wife in the party" Mr. Knight said 

"Whattttt????" Alex and Nathan both shouted in both wonder and shock 

"Son, go to your room. I need to talk to your dad alone" Mrs. Knight said 

Alex and Nathan nodded and left from there. 

Mrs. Knight held Mr. Knight's hand. 

"Honey, I think we need to them the truth," Mrs. Knight said 

"No. Don't think about it. Our family is ruined. Don't think about it" Mr. Knight
