CHAPTER FIVE.

CHAPTER FIVE.

It was the ring of her phone that woke her up. She opened her eyes and rubbed them sleepily then she reached out for the phone from under her pillow, she got it and she looked at who was calling. It was a strange number. She looked at the time on the clock that sat on the drawer beside her bed, the time was 4:30AM. She looked back at her ringing phone and wondered who on earth would be calling her as early as that. Her thoughts went to Delores, maybe the girl got a new phone and wanted to tell her. She clicked on the green icon on her phone to answer the call and she brought it to her ear.

"I thought you were going to let it ring till it goes off."

She recognized the voice on the other side. It was deep and masculine, like the voice of a god. It was his voice, Ron Diego. The memories of the previous night came rushing back to her head and she remembered that she gave him her number when they got talking and he asked. She had won the award last night__Yes, she won the award for the best model of the year and she remembered that he won the award of the businessman of the year too.

"Hey." She replied him sleepily.

"Did I wake you up? I'm sorry." His voice roared again and she closed her eyes.

"It's okay." She replied him.

"Text me your address and I'll come pick you up by six."

He hung up after he said that. She took her phone away from her ear and dropped it back where it was, under the pillow. She laid back on the bed and she closed her eyes to sleep.

**********

The only person who came to his mind to call when he woke up from the dream was Sarah. He did not have the nightmares, it was a dream about Sarah. He wondered why she was so stuck in his head even though he had only met her the previous night, it was like he had known her his entire life. He resisted the urge to call her and he stood up from the bed and walked to the table where the bottle of whisky was. He poured the whiskey in a glass cup and gulped every drop of it down his throat, he felt the hotness traveling down his throat and chest and he felt it settle in his stomach, he groaned loudly, closed his eyes and shook his head. Even with his eyes closed, he could see the girl in his head, her beautiful eyes and bright smile.

He walked back to the bed and took the alarm on the alarm that was on the drawer beside the bed, he looked at it to see what the time was, 4:29AM. He grabbed his phone from under his pillow and stared at it, he was staring at her number. He remembered that she was a model and he knew that models slept alot and wondered if she was awake by that time. He dialed her number and placed it on his ear. The prolonged ringing meant that she was not awake and he was sorry to disturb her beauty sleep.

When he finally cut the call, he dropped his phone on the bed and hoped that she would send her address. He badly wanted to get to know her better, he had a feeling that she was the one for him, maybe he was in love. He stood up from the bed and walked to the bathroom to take a shower and when he did, he came out of the bathroom and walked to the closet to dress up. He wore a black trouser and a white, long sleeved shirt and over the shirt, he wore a black suit jacket. His gold wrist watch wrapped around his wrist and he wore an expensive shoe.

He walked out of the closet and went to the bed and grabbed his phone and car keys. When he looked at the alarm on the little drawer, the time was 6:00AM. He hurriedly walked out of the room, he had to beat the traffic. The house was busy, the workers were up and running in the house when he walked out of his room. He descended the stairs and a chef rushed to him to ask if he would have breakfast, of course he would not, he was already late for work.

He parked his car in the parking lot and hurriedly went to the company building. When he got to the building, he walked through the busy workers and got to where his secretary stood. They exchanged pleasantries, more like she greeted him, he did not respond.

"What is on my schedule Grace?" He asked her.

"Maria sir."

He glared at her and she quickly opened her tablet to check his schedule.

"You have a meeting with Desfield companies, you have to sign a contract with them. Also, your father wants you to make new orders for raw materials. Before I forget sir, miss Lauren is here to see you." Maria read his schedule to him.

He did not respond. When he opened the door of his office, Lauren was there, sitting on the sofa at the corner of the room. She stood up when she saw him and he stood by the door and watched as she walked to him. She was wearing a black short dress and her hair tied up behind her in a bun. She smiled when she got to where he was, he did not smile. She cupped his face in her hands.

"I'm sorry honey, I overreacted and I know. Don't worry, I'll pick you up for a date in the evening and we will talk over dinner." She whispered to him.

"I'm going to be busy this evening Lauren, go to work." He barked at her.

He walked away from her and went to sit on his chair. He took out his laptop and went to work immediately.

"I'm going to tell your father." Lauren shouted at him.

He heard her walk out of the office and the door slammed behind her.

He attended the meetings, ordered the raw materials and signed the contracts and when the time was 4:00PM, select the office and headed home. For the first time since he left home, he took his phone in his hands and when he turned it on, he saw a message from Sarah.

*19 CRESCENT AVENUE*

He smiled and typed back.

*7:00PM THEN.*

***********

He stood at the door of the address Sarah had sent to him and he knocked. The door opened up after two knocks and when he saw who opened the door, his jaw dropped. It was Sarah that opened the door and she was wearing a sky blue short gown, it hugged her curves and exposed a little part of her thighs and his eyes ogled at her curves when he saw them. Her hair was neatly combed and let loose behind her and she had diamond earrings on her ears. She only applied a mild makeup but she looked extremely beautiful.

He swallowed hard when he saw her and it took everything in him not to pounce on her and do dirty things to her right there. He asked her if she was ready and she said she was. Together, they walked to his car and he drove away.

"So tell me, are you married?" Ron asked her when they sat down.

They had arrived at the restaurant where he told Maria make a reservation. They sat at their table when they arrived and that was the first question he asked her. She chuckled at his question but she did not answer him. A waiter came to their table to get orders.

"I'll have vegan salad." Sarah told the waiter.

"I'll have bacon and eggs." Ron said.

The waiter left and Ron's gaze returned to Sarah. Their eyes met and he winked at her, she smiled and he did too.

"Vegan huh?" Ron broke the silence.

"Need to keep the body." She replied him.

They both laughed. The waiter brought their food and they started eating, silently. Stealing glances at each other and smiling when their eyes meet.

"So, you didn't tell me." He broke the silence, again.

"What?" She asked.

"Are you married?" He replied her.

She laughed out loud.

"Models don't get married." She told him.

"Aahh, Yes. I totally forgot." He did not, he just wanted to start up a conversation with her.

"How about you? Are you married?" She asked him back.

"Not married, but betrothed." He told her truthfully.

He did not want to lie to her, he could not just lie to her. He watched as her brows rose at his confession, she clearly was not expecting him to say that.

"My family has a bride for me but I don't really like her."

"Oh." Was all she said and an awkward silence hovered over them.

He was beginning to think that telling her the truth was a bad idea after all.
