A few days later

Celine Coleman POV

I stood on the balcony of Bryant's room and stared up into space. A lot has happened over the last one week since I met my mom after many years. Even though I wasn't so mad at her, I couldn't still bring myself to forgive and accept her back into my life. Not after everything we had passed through without her here. Jake met her also, but he wasn't ready to forgive her, just as I am.

I spoke with Bryant about Jake over the week and he had forgiven him for everything he had done. I asked Jake to move in with us, but he said he had something to take care of before that, so I had to respect his decision.

"It's cold out here... You should go back inside," I heard Bryant's voice, and I turned to find him seated in his wheelchair. He was wearing pajamas, probably ready to go to bed.

"Hmm... Just getting fresh air. Will go back inside soon," I replied to him, and he wheeled himself to me.
