Chapter 2

Celine Coleman POV

As promised, I went shopping yesterday with Alpha Kayla's driver, and I was supposed to move in with him today. I know this wasn't a good idea, but do I have a choice? I already sent some money to my brother to get an apartment over there if he wanted to really move out. I didn't want him to come over here and see the disgusting life his sister will be living henceforth.

Alpha Kayla's driver, Logan picked me up minutes ago, and we were already on our way to his house.

"We are here, ma'am," Logan's voice pulled me back to reality, and that was when I realized that he was holding the door open for me, and I nodded my head.

"Thank you," I smiled at him, but as expected, he had a deep frown on his face.

"Follow me," He uttered after he closed the door behind me, leading me to the entrance door. The mansion was just like those I've seen in movies, and regardless of the beauty of it, I didn't have enough time to admire it because I was nervous. We finally got into the living room, and my mouth dropped open in shock at the sight that welcomed me. It felt like another planet on its own. It was everything beautiful and luxurious. I wasn't expecting less from the CEO of the biggest company in LA, anyway.

"The Alpha will join you shortly," Logan said to me before he left, and I sat on the couch. I didn't bother to take any of my clothes since he said that here was already stocked up with clothes for me.

"You are here?" I turned to find Alpha Kayla walking in, but he wasn't alone. He was wheeling someone in. A young man in his late twenties, sitting in a wheelchair.

"Good day, Sir," I quickly stood up to greet him, looking everywhere else except his face.

"You can just call me Alpha. You are welcome," His deep and cold voice sounded through my ears, and I nodded my head as I sat back on the couch. I raised my gaze a little to find the man on the couch staring at me. He had a striking resemblance with Alpha Kayla. They had the same facial outline, the only thing different were their eyes and hair. Unlike Alpha Kayla that had a pair of green eyes and brown hair, this one's were blue shady eyes and raven hair which looked natural.

"This is Prince Bryant, my little brother," I guess Alpha Kayla must've seen the confusion on my face.

"Oh," I curved my mouth, diverting my gaze to Alpha Kayla.

"Bryant, meet Celine Coleman, the young lady I told you about. Celine, Bryant," Alpha Kayla introduced us, but the Bryant guy stared at me with a creepy smile on his face. Slowly, the smile widened and before I could comprehend what was happening, he giggled uncontrollably, and I couldn't help but take a step back.

"Don't be scared. My brother is brain ill, so he can't control his laughter sometimes," It broke my heart to hear that a handsome young man like this was befallen by that horrible fate, and I couldn't help but pity him.

"I'm so sorry about that," I said to him, and he nodded his head.

"You should say hi to Celine, Bryant," I didn't imagine this man would be so gentle to someone, with the way he presented himself to me to be tough. I was expecting Bryant to say hi to me, but instead, he turned his wheelchair around and wheeled himself away, not after giving me a glance I had no idea what it meant.

I was shown around by the maid and was taken to my room afterward.

Being here felt weird, but the weirdest of it all was Bryant. I had no idea why I was worried about him and why I felt so bad for him.

I was about to go to sleep when the knock on my door pulled my attention, and when I went to get it, my heart skipped as I was welcomed by Alpha Kayla. Many thoughts ran through my mind and I feared he would ask us to have sex immediately. I mean, that's why I was here, anyways.

"Let's talk," He said to me icily after he walked into my room, and I took a deep breath, closing the door gently behind us and turning to face him.

"I will go straight to the point. My brother's life is complicated, and as you saw earlier, he needs someone by his side. I'm always going to the office, so while you are here, you should take care of him also," He stated, and I nodded my head. I was still going to be good to him, anyway.

"About the reason you are here..."

"Uhm... Can I ask a favor, please?" I cut him off, and he stared at me blankly for a moment before he nodded his head.

"Can you give me some time to adapt to this place first before we get to the business I'm here for?" It was a favor I prayed hard he granted. I needed some time to at least get to know him first. I couldn't just open my legs for a stranger like that, right?

"Sure," He seemed to think about it for a while before he nodded his head, tucking his hands inside his pockets.

"Thank you," That meant a lot to me and I couldn't help the excitement that filled my heart at his reply. I wasn't expecting him to grant me that so quickly.

"Treat my brother nicely. I won't hesitate to show you the ugly side of me if you hurt him," Those were his last words before he finally left my room, and I released the breath I'd been holding unknowingly, slumping on the bed afterward. My stay here is going to be a bit complicated, and I knew it.

I could only get a few hours of sleep all through the night, and it was soon daytime. After I had my bath and got dressed, I left my room and by the time I got downstairs, the maid told me that Alpha Kayla was upstairs in Bryant's room.

"It's almost time for Prince Bryant to have breakfast. You should take it to his room," The maid who was in her late forties said to me as she handed me a tray that was filled with food.

"The fifth room on your right-hand side along the hallway is his room. Make sure you knock before you go inside," The maid said to me before I headed to his room.

My heart was pounding hard against my chest for some reason I couldn't explain, as I walked along the hallway to his room.

"Why am I so nervous?" I stopped and ask myself...
