'The doctor will be with you shortly. He is busy' One of the nurses had said to me earlier when I just arrived at the hospital, and here I was for the past thirty minutes, still waiting for the doctor. I was almost losing it, but I tried to understand the nature of their job and be patient. Maybe there were too many patients to attend to today.

I touched my forehead for the umpteenth time and winced silently as waves of pain spurred through me. What could've caused this overnight? I asked myself, but there wasn't any answer I could provide for it, so I had to wait for the doctor.

My phone started to ring, and Bryant's name was displayed on the screen. I swiped the answer button.

"Hey, babe," His calm, deep, yet soothing voice came through the phone, and I smiled.
