Chapter 121

Amelia’s POV

TWO WEEKS LATER

The oven dinged and I wore my gloves. The sweet scent of cherry pie filled the air and I took out the pan and placed it on the counter. I reached on my toes for my mother's favourite plate and I cut myself a piece.

I munched down on it thrice and nodded my head, feeling satisfied at the result. I turned to her cook book and I closed it. Her recipe had finally paid off. It was worth the time and energy dedicated to it.

I ate in silence just like all the other days since I moved into my home. The walls no longer felt alive and even the fragrance in the air no longer caught my fancy.

Nothing interested me here. It was all glum and dark. I've had nothing but nightmares on my return here. My back hurt from folding myself on my old bed-- I could use a massage and a good Queen sized bed.

I debated sleeping in her room but the minute I walked in, tears were the only things in my eye and I was walking out the next minute.

I reached for my warm glass of milk and too
