6 Two dead and another missing?

With the weekend fast approaching, the death of a teacher rocks the community of Havendale on Thursday.

Miss. Sherwood, the chemistry teacher.

Even though Riviera didn't like her because of her method of punishment, and the way she talks to the students, she thinks of as unruly. Riviera feels bad. No one deserves to die. The worst part of it is that her 2-year-old son was the one to find her.

"Hey, you guys want to come over to my house? My mom makes fantastic briskets.'' Kylie offers, right after they dismiss school to have a few days of mourning and Miss. Sherwood funeral.

''Are you sure that we are welcome?'' Jeremiah asks.

Kylie nods, "she loves having company over.''

Riviera shrugs, not seeing any harm in going to a friend's house.

The three walk down a path to where Kylie says she lived. Which leads them to a different side of Havendale. Where the houses are smaller, the roads aren't so clean and the grass is yellow.

Riviera says nothing. She even tries not to look all over the place, not wanting to say the wrong thing and make Kylie uncomfortable.

"This is it.'' Kylie comes to stop at a house that seems no different from the rest. The house is small, with two bedrooms, one bathroom and a verandah that is piled up with junk.

"Come, my mother really wants to meet you guys.'' Kylie smiles.

Riviera couldn't deny her that, they are friends after all and she couldn't let something as superficial as not having a pleasant house or a car, makes her lose that.

Riviera follows behind to the front door that has a hole in the bottom, a dog sticks its head through it and makes yapping sounds.

"Hey boy." Kylie picks up the yapping dog and hugs him to her chest, "this is Happy, he doesn't bark or bite. I found him one day just wandering around and took him in."

Happy sticks his little pink tongue as Kylie rubs his fat belly.

Riviera pats him on the head. Happy growls and snaps at her head, causing her to pull back.

"Sorry, he has never done that before.'' Kylie places him on the dusty floor.

"It's fine, I never got along with animals." Riviera says.

Kylie leads them inside to where a young boy is watching tv, the smell coming from the kitchen fills the air with a mouth-watering smell of a well-cooked meal.

''I'm home!'' Kylie shouts, even though she didn't have to.

"I see you brought company.'' her mother smiles, her Elven face lights up and her gray eyes seem to twinkle. "Let me guess, Riviera and Jeremiah? Kylie has told me so much about you both, it's like I already know you.''

"It's my pleasure to meet you as well, Mrs. Lictree.'' Jeremiah smiles.

"Oh, no. No Mrs. You can call me Evette. I'm so glad that you two became acquainted with Kylie. She was having a hard time making frien-''

"Mom!" Kylie shouts, her face turning red.

"Of course, you don't want to be embarrassed. Well, let me get back to the kitchen.'' Evette backs up.

Everything was going alright, with the small dinner table filled with laughter. Until Kylie's father comes home.

Evette's face falls. She must have caught his scent, because he is nowhere near the front door.

Kylie falls silent as well, because she knows how her father reacts.

"Well, what do you have here?'' Kylie's father leans on the doorpost.

"Jerry, please don't start.'' Evette begs, she pushes back her chair to get up.

"No, I have all gods damn right to start and be angry. What do you think we are running a soup kitchen!? With these people here eating our food, when they leave and go back to the other side then what, huh?" Jerry's eyes drift back and forth between Jeremiah and Riviera. Then it lands on Evette.

"So?'' Jerry asks, pointing at the door.

Riviera didn't waste any time in getting up from the table and leave.

"I'm sorry,'' Kylie says, closing the door.

Jeremiah looks at Riviera as they hear plates shattering.

"We should do something, maybe call the Alpha.'' Riviera cries. She didn't realize that she is crying until Jeremiah uses his thumb to wipe her hot tears away.

''Trust me, as much as I don't like the next person being abused. There is nothing we can do. The Alpha wouldn't even care. This pack is not a pack, nobody follows the rules, you'll see that as time goes on." Jeremiah tells her.

Riviera walks home with a lot on her mind and her heart feeling heavy. She didn't know that Kylie is going through something like that. She hides her problem so well, you would think that she lives in a world filled with rainbow and sunshine.

Maybe that's why she is so reserved.

"Riviera.'' Mary-Kate pulls her daughter into a tight hug and sobs.

The first thing on her mind is that her mother must have known about what had happened at Kylie's.

"Mom, I'm ok.'' Riviera hugs her and begins crying as well.

"Oh, I'm glad you ok safe. I thought that the body they found was you." Mary-Kate tightens her hug.

Riviera pulls back, "What?''

They both give each other confused looks.

"They found the body of a headless female down by the beach," Mary-Kate explains.

Riviera makes a face at the picture her mother paints, Riviera only said that she is ok and left out what happened at Kylie's house. She didn't want her mother to get involved. Thinking that it is only a matter for the Alpha, or whoever deals with those kinds of things.

That night, Riviera feels as if something trapped her in nightmares after nightmares.

The first one she has is of Kylie. Her father stands over her with a thick leather belt and forces her to watch tv that shows nothing. It literally shows nothing but static. Kylie sits before the tv crying and seems as if she couldn't move.

For some strange reason, it is as if Riviera is now in Kylie's head, hearing her every thought.

Kylie's thoughts.

Stop it, stop it, stop it. In her mind, she is holding her hands over her ears to block out the sound. Stop it, stop it. Kylie continues to say, as the static comes louder and louder.

She screams, feeling as if something invisible force is holding her back, trying to suppress something within her.

Riviera's nightmare soon shifts to a much more gruesome scene.

Miss. Sherwood had just come home from school, with a pile of test papers to mark. Setting her things down on the living room table, then went to the kitchen. She sniffs the air, sensing a presence there with her. She isn't familiar with it, but whatever it is, puts her on edge.

Before she could even react, an invisible force slams into her. She falls hard to the floor and cracks the back of her head open, but with her wolf ability, she recovers quickly and goes into a stance, ready to attack.

But Miss. Sherwood is fighting a losing battle against something she can't see, and whoever the intruder is is much stronger than her.

Miss. Sherwood lets out one of her screeches, thinking that will somehow affect the dark presence. Instead, it seems to upset it more. At first, it was only experimenting with her, toying with her sanity. But now, it is out for blood.

The thing wasted no time in slamming Miss. Sherwood head to the counter then flings her to the floor.

The dream shifts once again to a woman not known to Riviera. She was enjoying a day off from work and planted some flowers.

But her new found hobby is soon short-lived. The woman stands up and looks around. She drops her mini shovel in a state of shock. She did not know how she got to the beach.

The same dark presence surrounds the woman, seeming to crush her under great pressure. This time it didn't want to play, it was out for blood.

The last thing Riviera saw was the woman's head rolling.

Before, she is yet again dragged into another night of terror.

This one is of Mr. Tiller. He sits at his desk late marking papers. When the door to his classroom springs open, he looks up and frowns after not seeing anyone.

A locker slam somewhere, and just like in any horror movie, Mr. Tiller gets up to investigate. He peeks out his door before he steps out. It is as if he knows what is to come.

"I'm not doing this with you today," he says, then turns to where he felt the presence. "I think I knew who you are." Mr. Tiller smiles.

''Are you-" He didn't get to finish what he was about to say because he vanishes.

Eyes glowing red eyes turn towards Riviera, then black blood-stained claws reach out to grab her. Riviera screams and sits up in an open field.
