The morning before her eighteenth birthday, Riviera gets a call from Kylie, which wakes her from her sleep.
"Kylie, it's five in the morning." Riviera said into her phone.
"I know, but I think I can smell my mate."
Riviera groans, "Kylie, you wake me up to tell me this?"
"Sorry, dumb I know, but I had to share it with someone."
"And you chose me?"
"Yes, because my sister is in her room with her mate. Anyway, would you like to be a part of the midnight celebration as well?"
"No, I have my own traditions."
"Will, if you should change your mind, you have until Thursday."
"Bye, Kylie, I'm going back to sleep."
"Wait, wait, wait. Will you be coming tonight?"
"I'm hanging up." Riviera said, pressing the call end button, then throwing her phone at the foot of her bed.
