By now Riviera has gotten used to half of the kids in Havendale not speaking to her and avoiding her, mostly because of Garcia her now enemy, has spread some rumour about her having the wolf Pungo virus. She doesn't even know what that is, but either way, she doesn't mind, she now knows who her real friends are, and no one is around her pretend to like her for her things, mostly her pool.
Riviera is more than happy with the two friends she has, and couldn't care less if everyone else hated her. Even though sometimes she thinks her friends secretly hate her and is only trying to gather information to embarrass her. Even some teachers were included in the hate group, mostly because Riviera gave them a hard time, refusing to do any work that involves anything that wolves.
But it was mostly because of the hard time they gave her for not b
"Riviera!'' Jeremiah calls her name. Riviera jumps and looks at him. "Are you ok?'' Kylie leans forward, looking at Riviera's white knuckles. "Hey, ju-'' She didn't have time to finish what she is saying because a large gray wolf comes charging out from behind a house, Riviera swerves just in time to avoid the impact with the wolf but its claws still slices through the front end like hot butter. The car gets out of control and sails across the pavement. Riviera can smell the leaking for the petrol and think of a plan fast. "We have to jump.'' She tells her friends, unbuckling her seat belt. "Are you out of your mind?'' Kylie exclaims, from the back where she grips her seat. Jeremiah didn't protest. He throws his bag through the window and looks back at Kylie. "Climb over,'' he tells her. Kylie shakes her head. "Come on Kylie, Happy and your mom will miss you." Riviera tries to talk her up. It seems to wo
Riviera wakes up the next morning, gets ready for school and is about to leave when her mother stops her, "honey. I have some good news. School is being postponed until further notice.'' Mary-Kate smiles. Riviera raises a brow at her. "How is that good news? I don't even know if my friends are ok.'' "Well, we can have a nice bonding time. I don't have work and Justina isn't here so we will have as much time to ourselves." Mary-Kate pushes her daughter back upstairs. "Now get dressed in your pyjamas or not, but just get ready to have a nice mommy-daughter bonding time.'' Mary-Kate smiles. After getting charged into a grey shorts and black swim suit top, Riviera comes back downstairs to see her mother dancing to workout videos. She steps ups, twists her body and then touches her toes, only to repeat the movement. "Oh, honey, care to join." Mary-Kate waves at the space beside her. "No," Riviera walks away, and heads of
After another three days of being on lockdown, three of Mary-Kate, and three days of dreams about the killer wolf's victims. Riviera is over it. She feels like pulling her hair out or even pulling a Brittany Spears and shave her head. Laying in bed, she feels as if she is going insane. She needs fresh air and needs to see her friends. After the events two days ago, the Alpha told everyone to stay inside, so now no one could even go to their own pool or back yard now. She felt for Kylie, seeing that the wolf keep on attacking people from her side of Havendale. Closing her eyes, Riviera stays in bed a little while longer. As much as she tries to fight it, what happened two nights ago comes flooding back. Riviera can feel the wolf trying to reach into her mind, but she managed to block him out. She didn't know what he was searching for. Maybe a way in, seeing that the houses are all magically protected. He licks the glass. His nasty
Not so surprising to Riviera, Beta Shane somehow forgot to relay the message or the entire ordeal to Alpha Sabastian. In fact, it took two days of the Alpha and his team running around in circles and trying to find the wolf that seemed to just disappeared. She saw it in her mother's mind of how frustrated the Alpha is starting to get with all the dead-end leads. People are questioning his motive and even go as far as saying that maybe he shouldn't be Alpha anymore. "Mom, just tell the Alpha what happened. Clearly Shane doesn't care.'' Riviera pleads with her mother for the tenth time. ''Riviera, I'm sure the Alpha and his Beta are trying all they can to stop this wolf. If Shane didn't say anything to him, it might be because he doesn't find it important.'' Mary-Kate says. Riviera squeezes her eyes shut. "This is your problem. You never have time for me or listen to what I have to say. If you were so concerned why call the Beta in the first pla
Sabastian Belmount, the current Alpha of the New Haven pack, sits at his desk going over the papers of the new arrival to their pack. He had given the task to his Beta, Shane, who seems to have other things on his mind. Sabastian signs the bottom of both contracts in black ink, rolls them up before tying them with a red string, then burning them in the green flames of the hearth. He watches as the ash blows in the sudden yet gentle breeze. A sign that the gods and fates have accepted the recent additions to the pack and will hold them to their oath. He sits back in his chair and looks out to the morning sun that is peeking out from behind a random cloud. He folds his arms behind his head, trying to relax from his duties. But as always it is short-lived. There is a loud crashing sound, then yelling. "You worthless, son of a bi*ch!!'' He can hear his father yelling. He knows it must have been one of his younger brothers. Growing up, he never understood
Not knowing what to do, Sabastian sits with his head in his hands, as everything seems to be in shambles. Word has already gotten out about the few deaths that he was trying to keep on the low until he could figure things out. At first, he didn't know who was the one to spread the rumours, until one of Shane's many flings come into the office crying and begging for his forgiveness. And of course, his Beta is missing in action, he is either out with some unmated female, causing trouble or is at the center of some drama. His only option is to go talk to Alberta, the old hog that has the gift of foresight. Ignoring his father and brother with their regular fights, he makes his way out the front door, then quickly drifts to the left, taking a different path than he usually does. He turns his mind link off and tries to mask his scent. He breaks into a jog down the path and through the dense forest that leads to the slump part of Havendale. He fight
Instead of figuring out what or who is killing off members of his pack, Sabastian watches as things get worse. They now forced him to order everyone to stay home until they can catch the wolf. Of course, not everyone is on board with it. And his pack members went on with their regular activities. "You are being too nice son, maybe you learned little from me but just one roar or maybe just one thug in their minds and they will be the perfect little slaves.'' Edward says, an ugly smile creeps on his face as he said it. ''We are nothing alike Edward, you might be my father, but all you are was just a man that got my mother pregnant. Now leave.'' Sabastian points to the door. Edward laughs, before closing the door he leaves a little remark ''well maybe if you were like me, our pack wouldn't be disobeying you and you would have had pups already.'' Sabastian didn't need reminding that he has no mate, he knows that she is out there and is willing to
Dressed in a pair of black skin-tight ripped jeans, and a green tank top, the now eighteen-year-old Riviera makes her way to the very back of Myth class, away from the twenty-seven other students, and to where the lights weren't so bright. She places her bag on the floor and her head on the desk, where her long chestnut colour hair spills all over the desktop, and almost brushing the ground. Today her hair looks stringy and greasy as usual and needs a trim, but she is never one to be fussy about her appearance, her hair, or anything for that matter. Unlike everyone else or her mother, for example. Mary-Kate is always the one to go shopping, to keep up with the latest trends, wear makeup and also trying to break Riviera into the same things. She would often compare her daughter to other young ladies in the pack, but apologize whenever
