Kellan looked from Scarlett to Gemma, attempting to gauge their emotions.

The tense atmosphere in the room he had just entered gave a clear indication that the women were not at peace.

And the way Scarlett's foot kept on tapping on the floor as she glared at Gemma who was gladly returning the glare said a lot.

"What is going on here?" Kellan fixed his gaze on Scarlett, who averted her eyes from Gemma, who she had been giving a death glare, and looked at him.

Kellan could see her eyes soften, but the resent was still there and it made him wonder what Gemma could have done to provoke Scarlett's wrath.

"Nothing of concern, my king," Scarlett said, bowing her head in submission.

Kellan passed a suspicious stare at them.

"Hopefully, that's the case. You may leave," Kellan said with a stern expression.

Scarlett looked at him for a moment before she turned and walked out of the room, as Kellan had dismissed her.
