Kellan stared at the guard who had come to pass on the information to him, disbelief flashing in his eyes for a moment.

"Are you certain about what you're saying?" Kellan asked, staring warily at his guard as he stood up from behind the desk.

"Yes, my king," the guard affirmed.

Kellan stood there for a moment, his thoughts racing in his head. What information could the lady have to tell him?

He made his way swiftly outside the door, with the guard trailing behind him, before he stopped abruptly and turned to face the guard.

"Tell her to meet me at the courtroom right away," he commanded, and the guard bowed in understanding before he quickly made his way outside the palace to fetch Iris.

Kellan paced around the courtroom as he waited for Iris. He couldn't sit still, as his wolf was uneasy and jumpy with excitement.
