His name is Kellan - the Supreme King of the Capital Pack.
He was there alone, no guards, no attention. Just seeking some quietness and peaceful time from the woods.
He had been upset about his personal assistant leaving, and that was major reason he needed some cool-off. Davis was the best man for the job, or perhaps, it was him who had gotten too used to him. He's been his assistant for years, but unfortunately, he's quitting because he wants to explore the world - in his words.
Alpha Kellan has tried all he could to make him stay, but the young man is adamant. So, he needs to let him go. But Kellan is not pleased with it. He'll be needing a new assistant and he wasn't so sure he'd be able to find someone as strong and perfect for the job as Davis was.
He spent a long time in the woods and was enjoying how calm it was, not until he saw her coming.
From the top of the three where he sat, she looked so small and ran fretfully like she was in danger. Setting eyes on her, warmth surged through his body. His wolf came awake with an uncanny excitement, like it had just seen a missing part of himself.
Kellan watched quietly and noticed when a young man caught up with her and shoved her to the ground. That instant, he felt so much rage, his wolf jerked inside of him.
'Someone was trying to hurt her. Someone was trying to hurt her.' that was all he could think of, and the thought sent him reeling.
His wolf became even more furious than he was. And instantly, it took over him - shifted and jumped off the tree.
The fool didn't see him coming. So, he attacked him from behind and made sure to leave a scratch on his face. Then, he let him go when he was satisfied with the level of fear he'd instilled in him.
Alone with the lady, he turned to her and noticed how weak she was. She was so beautiful, although she looked different. He's never seen a lady with hair and eyes like hers. This was very strange, what kind of blood does she have? Was she a mere wolf?
His wolf let out a loud howl into the night. It's never been so excited. For years, they've been searching for that missing part of them - for that one mate. And finally, they've found her.

NEXT MORNING
****†****†****†****†
It was early hours of morning.
The weight of slumber slowly left Scarlett, causing her eyes to flutter open. Her head was still a mess, a leaden burden stubbornly clung to her senses.
Where was she? The ceiling was seeming unfamiliar.
She moved her hand and recoiled with a startled flinch when she noticed she was on a bed and was nàked. She cocked her head and found a strange figure lying next to her, his back against her.
She clamped her hand over her mouth to stifle her gasp.
"What the hell?" She muttered.
How was she nàked and in the bed of a stranger? How did she end up here?!
She closed her eyes and tried to recollect all that happened the previous night. She remembered being chased by Rolf, then a strange wolf saving her. Hold on; was he the wolf?
She looked at him. Since he was backing her, she couldn't see his face. And the light in the room was dim as well.
Images of how she had thrown herself at him came flooding her mind. She had been so hórny, and the moment they got to the room, she'd regained light consciousness and started kissing him.
Her body wanted him; she craved him. So, she made the first move. How stupid and shameful of her.
"I don't think there's a reason to feel regret. He's our mate. He's the one! Go closer!" Her wolf rambled within her.
It startled Scarlett. Was that correct? Was he really her mate?
Anxiously, she went closer and gasped when she confirmed it. He smelt attractive. He was indeed, her mate.
"Mates are dangerous." She told her wolf, wagging her head with pain in her eyes.
She remembered the five potential mates that had broken her heart. From Winslow, to Ronan, to Finn... She didn't want to think of them.
"This is a mistake." She said to herself.
Getting intimate with him was a mistake. She blamed it on whatever Rolf had done to her drink.
She was never going to trust another man again; she wasn't ready to have her heart broken for the sixth time. Probably, he'd become scared of her and avoid her like the others. She didn't want that to happen again.
A tear slipped her eye at the thought of it. It was very painful, tho - living a lonely life without a mate. Growing up, she thought she'd have found her mate at the age of eighteen. But she was twenty-six already with no hope of ever having a mate.
Flicking off her tear, she left the bed and hurriedly put on her clothes. She spared one final glance at him. Wouldn't it have been nice to see his face, at least? To see the face of the man that'd made love to her.
Unfortunately, she couldn't as he was facing the wall. She didn't want a situation where he'd come awake and try to stop her from leaving.
So, she left in a hurry; left without seeing his face.

Alpha Kellan woke up about an hour later and was muddled when he didn't find the strange lady on the bed.
He checked the bathroom, thinking she was washing off or something, but the bathroom was empty.
He checked the balcony and looked frantically around for her. No! She couldn't have gotten away! No way.
He hurried to the telecom and dialed the number of the receptionist.
"Good morning, My King..."
"Where's she?" He interrupted the woman. "The lady I came in with. Have you seen her?"
"Uh... she left about an hour ago, My King. "We tried to stop her, but she was too fast and zoomed off."
The words sliced through Kellan's emotions. He grunted and slammed the telecom hard on the table.
Why the hell did she leave?! Didn't she know what she was to him? She was his mate! His fúcking mate!
He snaked his fingers into his hair as he paced round the room. His head was burning up. The realization of losing her unsettled his wolf and made him growl even more.
He needed her. She was the most unique person he's ever set his eyes on. Her beauty was too perfect, her strange hair color and eyes made her even more beautiful.
Remembering how she had kissed him the previous night and how good she was in bed drove him nuts; especially when she had coiled herself to him after the intercourse.
For the first time, his heart beat for a woman. For the first time, he had the urge to protect her. To own her. He slept deeply 'cause he was extremely happy - happy that he'd finally found his mate. But now she was gone - gone without a word.
He paused when he noticed something on the floor, next to the bed. Crouching over, he picked it up and discovered it was a necklace, with the pendant bearing the name 'Scar'.
It was her necklace. He remembered seeing it on her. Obviously, it had fallen off without her notice.
He ambled to the balcony, staring dearly at the necklace. At that moment, it seemed too precious to him. That was the only thing he had left of her.
One Week LaterScarlett kept glancing at the wall clock as she brushed her hair in front of the mirror. It was her first day at work, and she couldn't comprehend how the hell she woke up later than she was supposed to. She had literally slept with a smile on her face due to how excited she was about it. Yet, she woke up a bit late.Done with her hair, she styled it into a ponytail and added some oil to it to give it a sheen finish. Then, she gave herself one final scrutiny in the mirror. She was robed in a black turtle-neck shirt, tucked into a black pair of trousers and black boots to match. Her hair had been dyed black, and she fixed dark lenses as well. She was perfect - she thought. Looked just like the right warrior that could protect the pack. Her hand moved up to her bare neck. The sting returned immediately, reminding her of the fact that she'd lost her precious necklace. She missed it and wished she wasn't so careless with it.No doubt, she'd left it at the suite with the str
"My King, is there a problem?" Rick went closer and asked in a hushed undertone.Kellan said nothing still, his gaze on the strange lady. Finally, he took some steps towards her, causing the people to draw their breaths and shift uncomfortably. Scarlett was confused and just kept watching. He stopped halfway to where she was, when her looks became too confusing for him. Something about her seemed so familiar. She had the same body features as the lady from the other night. But her hair and eye color was contradicting. He was damn sure the hair and eyes of his mate were red. But the hair and eyes of the lady in front of him was black. It wasn't adding up.'They're not the same person. They just look alike.' he thought to himself. That was the possible explanation. They simply just looked alike.Conclusively, he turned away and walked back to where a table and chair had been arranged for him. Winter had seen the whole thing and felt very disturbed. For a long time, she stole glances at
Scarlett didn't participate in any more battles for the rest of the day since she already fought with the king. Also, there were no corrections to be made as she had shown her perfect skills.Rick coordinated the rest of the people, pointing out the errors of some, and applauding the others that were good. After a long time, the training came to an end with Rick telling them he'd be assigning them to their various positions the next day. This got them curious and excited.Everyone started dispatching, majority of them glancing and talking about Scarlett. Of course, she was the topic of the day. Even though the King had defeated her, they were still able to notice her powerful fighting skills.Scarlett got her bag and was exiting the field when the hazel-colored girl ran up to her."Hi. I'm Aria." She extended her hand for a handshake.Scarlett was tempted to turn her down, but on a second thought, she changed her mind and received the gesture."Scarlett." She responded."Oh! I know yo
The following morning, Scarlett woke up and got ready for work again. She fixed her lenses and made sure the black dye on her hair wasn't fading out in any part. The last thing she wanted was making people look at her with irritating eyes, like people from her pack did.Done, she exited the house, a lot earlier than the previous day. She intentionally finished early becuase she planned on visiting someone, or somewhere. She took a cab and soon arrived at the witch's store which was by the side of the road. She's visited a lot of stores for this same reason, but some weeks ago, she heard news that this particular witch was very experienced. She got off the cab and proceeded into the store. An intoxicating blend of herbs, flowers and so many potions engulfed the air and filtered into her nostrils the moment she crossed the threshold. She could never get used to this smell. It was a small store. Looking around, she found potions upon potions, so many herbs and leaves mounted on each othe
Scarlett's breath froze in an instant. She wanted to look away, but something trapped her eyes to him, making it impossible for her to look away.He was shirtless and soaked, droplets glistening on his skin like tiny diamonds. His chiseled abs were exposed, each contour emphasized by the water clinging to his body. The water droplets glistened on his sleek hair, giving it a polished sheen. Scarlett's lips subtly parted, her heart skipped like a stone on water. He looked just like a greek god!"My King!" She finally pulled herself together and lowered her head, trying to steady her heart that threatened to explode in her chest. She couldn't get the image out of her head.Staring at him for a few seconds messed with her head completely. She tugged at her lower lip with her teeth.Kellan had just finished from the pool and decided to come into his study for a quick review. The study was his personal place, and he didn't expect too find anyone there. Imagine his surprise seeing his new as
Scarlett was so excited the rest of the day. Her life was finally getting better, things were falling in place for her.So many goodnews in one day. Not only did she become the King's personal guard and assistant, she also got a rise in her pay and will be accompanying him on a mission to the south! She'll be travelling with the king! She giggled and tossed from side to side on the bed. She couldn't recall when last she was this happy. At last, the moon goddess was answering her prayers. It was evening when her phone started ringing beside her. Checking the caller, she discovered it was her Aria.Thank goodness! She needed someone to share the news with."Hey!" Aria beamed as soon as she picked the call. "What're you doing? I didn't see you today at the field.""I'm fine, Aria." Scarlett chuckled. "I actually have great news.""Great news? Bring it on!"Scarlett smiled and sat up on the bed, like she could see her."A lot of goodies happened today, you know? First, I was chosen as the
Kellan had a busy day, attending to some issues of the pack. By the time he was done, it was evening already and he retired to his room for some rest. However, his wolf was restless and wouldn't let him think straight. As Kellan sat down in his room to eat, the persistent wolf hardly let him concentrate."We need to find her. You've been too non-challant." Ragnor grumbled."I have bene trying. Rick and the others have been searching for her. What am I supposed to do?" Kellan answered tiredly, sharing his thoughts."You shouldn't rely solely on others to find our mates. You should be making an effort as well. We need to find her sooner."Kellan sighed and wagged his head, gulping some wine afterward."I never asked her to leave." He mumbled, a small frown finding its way to his face. "Perhaps, she's not even interested in me. If she was, she'd have never left that morning.""I'm sure she had her reasons." Ragnor growled. "Whatever it was, we can't completely blame her, at least, until
He held her down to the ground while she waited for him to do something to her. She had stopped moving. She had no chance. Surprisingly he just sniffed her.‘’What is going on?’’. Scarlett muttered within her, not really knowing what was happening at the moment. She growled in anger as the giant wolf was still sniffing her neck. She thought he was going to hurt her, but she had no choice but to remain there as the wolf didn’t let her go.She tried escaping his grip.‘’Let me go!’’ She growled once again, as she put in more force.‘’Stay’’. Ragnor growled back at her.He was too strong for her. Ragnor held her down to the ground so strong that he made sure she was not able to run away.Immediately, Alexa gave up on trying and let out a few soft howls in defeat.Once Ragnor saw that she had given up, he immediately stopped sniffing her neck and released her. He remained there looking at her, totally losing his guard. Alexa saw this great opportunity right away and used it to quickly kno
