17 Years Old

The entire ballroom is decorated in black and gold. Several invited guests are now present in the event room and have started to fill the rows of chairs that are their place to wait until the birthday party starts.

Two girls with similar faces stared at the reflection in the mirror. One of the girls was totally ready to start the party wearing a knee-high dress in gold color - the other was still a little nervous about the party that was about to start.

"Calm down, Olivia. Everything will be fine. The party will go on as it should and everyone will be happy at our birthday party," said Patricia - Olivia's twin - touching the shoulder of her twin who looked a little worried.

"Still. It's an important party for us. If something bad happens, everyone will see it and put news about this in newspapers and magazines. I'm really worried right now," Olivia said looking at her twin seriously.

Patricia touched Olivia's hand quite tightly. "Nothing will happen. Calm down."

The door opened, and a woman stepped into the room where the two girls were. She looked at the two girls and smiled in satisfaction.  Both of them look very beautiful, even though they are swept with light make-up.

"All right. All the invited guests are now in the ballroom. Shouldn't we start the party now?" asked the mother of the twins in front of her in a cheerful tone.

Patricia got up but Olivia was still reluctant to leave the chair. "Now what?"  the woman asked with some impatience. Olivia has always had a fear of anything. And that's always been a drag for Megan, who loves to party so much.

Megan approached the chair Olivia was sitting in and looked into the pair of blue eyes that still showed concern. The woman likened her body to the girl sitting on the chair directly in front of her, touching her daughter's hand quite firmly, as if to signal that Olivia didn't have to worry about the party.

"Nothing will happen. Security is ready throughout the ballroom. All guests are seated. And the stage is as lively as possible. There's nothing to worry about right now, Olivia," Megan said softly.

"But.. I had a strange dream last night. I had a dream that this party would be chaotic and mom and dad would be killed," said Olivia, who turned even more worried than before.

Megan shook her head firmly. "Nothing will happen. The party will go smoothly as planned. Now stand up and welcome the guests."

 ***

The camera flash greeted Patricia and Olivia who had just stepped onto the stage. Several journalists were also present at his second birthday party. It all can't be separated from their mom's profession who is a top model and is highlighted everywhere she goes.  And don't forget their dad who is also a very successful businessman in the property sector.

Megan, Patricia, Olivia and her husband Sam smiled at the reporters in unison before actually standing behind the counter with the birthday cake on top.

The birthday party started. The birthday song filled the entire ballroom, Patricia singing very cheerfully to the music played by the band. However, it is different from Olivia who still has very high worries. Olivia swept her gaze across the party room, then her blue eyes caught the strange movements of a man she recognized as her dad's confidant.  The man smiled strangely at Olivia.  A really strange smile that managed to make the girl feel a little scared now. Or is it really just Olivia's feelings? The girl shook her head and began to choose to focus on the program even though worries still enveloped her.

"Now it's time to blow out the candles," said the MC who was already smiling at Olivia.

Patricia gripped Olivia's hand quite firmly and brought her mouth close to her twin's ear. “Let's finish this well. It's only for a moment, Olivia. After that we are free to do whatever we want,” Patricia said with great emphasis on Olivia's ear.  The girl just nodded slowly then took a breath and counted three times. The thing Olivia used to do when she felt really anxious and worried. After that, the girl was already smiling confidently.

The twins blew out the candles that were on their birthday cakes, after which there was applause from the invited guests. And the next event is cutting the cake.

Patricia had a pastry knife in her hand and signaled Olivia to cut their birthday cake together.

BOOOM!

Suddenly there was an explosion sound and managed to make Sam just thrown off the stage. Right, when the knife hits the surface of the birthday cake.

Patricia fell to the floor of the stage where she was, her hand reached out to pull Olivia's hand away, as the smoke of the explosion suddenly thickened and it was the turn of the gunshots that rang out and managed to startle both of them.

"Get up, Olivia. We have to save ourselves immediately," said Patricia, who was already panicking because Olivia suddenly fainted with the sound of gunfire.

A man suddenly grabbed Patricia's hand quite firmly and after that all that could be heard was the sound of the invited guests screaming crazily filling the ballroom. The birthday party really turned into a mess.
