I could not believe that Lucien had betrayed us. Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed that Lucien would do this to us.

He had betrayed us and killed my father. This was a lesson learned a bit too late.

I felt the cord connecting me to my father break, and I knew he was no longer with us.

Raya told me to focus, but how could I when my heart was broken.

I was mourning my father. Tears streamed down my cheeks even though I tried to hold them.

Miles fought beside me, and I wondered how his king could be so stupid. I could feel Miles' devotion; he was ready to die beside me.

We slashed and cut through the attackers, a mix of the zombies and our treacherous people, and we moved swiftly.

I knew Mark and Aida were no more, and I wondered who would fall next.

"We are all coming towards you so Irvin can come towards you. He seems to be avoiding you," Christopher said, and I did not need to guess why.
