It happened suddenly.

We were asleep when Mark alerted me that we were under attack.

My stomach churned because the time was upon us.

The battle Willow told me about was finally here. The struggle for survival and freedom.

Our kind would be extinct if we lost this battle, but her vision still showed a total wipeout.

As worried as I was, there was no escaping it anymore. They were here, and they were ready.

I planned to fight to survive to spend the rest of Willow's time in peace. Still, If I lost my life in the process, I was willing to take out as many people as possible for the survival of my kind. As the general of this war, it was my duty to ensure we won.

Willow was awake, and I could see she knew from her eyes.

Words did not need to be spoken between us. We both knew it was time.
