“But before that, you guys need to wash up,” I said in my way stern voice. “What do you do after a full day of playing out?”

“We wash up!” Blue replied while the girls groaned.

“Good. It's time to do that, darlings.”

The girls sighed at my words. With their shoulders drooped and matching frowns on their faces, they strode towards the stairs, with Blue skipping all the way.

“How was work, darling?” Miles asked as he placed a kiss on my left cheek.

“Good.” Smiling, I stepped into the kitchen to announce my return to my other mates before I went upstairs to help the kids with their bath.

The girls asked to go first, so they could rush downstairs and eat the cookies their dad promised them before Blue could finish. And being the best mummy I could for my son, I bathed him first, while the girls groaned about how unreasonable this was.
