Reconciliation

The shadow stepped out of the window and approached with a smile identical to Victor's. He was not wearing his aged form that day. He looked like Vitor's twin brother.

"You didn't think that the groom's father wouldn't come to honor his firstborn son on his wedding day, did you?"

"You didn't remember him when you swarmed him like a puppy, still newborn." Gullveig said lifting his chin proudly and defiantly.

He went back to the window and closed it for, although the sun had not yet risen, the day was clearing. Then he approached her again assessing her unashamedly and smiled when he saw her hand in the little bag around his waist, but pretended not to notice.

"My son and I have had long hours of conversations during these two years of his engagement and we have reconciled. I very much approve of his choices for women. You are truly an unprecedented beauty.... A pity that that soft, hard, smelling body of yours will age and wither away..."
