FRANCESCA
"Attention, attention, Omegas! The Alpha King, Hector of the Lockwood Pack North, has passed away!"
My breath was heavy as my backpack repeatedly slammed against me while running back to what I call home. But it never felt like one for me.
Shit!
It had rained earlier, so the muddy ground clung to my shoes, but I paid no mind and kept running until I reached the wooden porches of our house, situated in the middle of a green forest.
I rested my hands on my knees, catching my breath and sweating.
"The Alpha King, Hector of the Lockwood Pack, has passed away."
It echoed in my head like a daydream. That's significant news! Like really big news!
I am an Omega in the Lockwood Pack North, and so are my parents. The death of the Alpha king must have caused chaos everywhere already.
I opened the door with the rusted doorknob, and my eyes fell on two people, my mother and father – looking into nothingness as if they had just seen a ghost.
I gulped as I stepped in, but it didn't feel like they cared because they never turned to look in my direction. I always felt alien in their midst, as if I was never part of the strange family to begin with.
Yes, this family was strange. Even though I don't understand much about parental love, there's an undeniable tension among us, pushing them away from me. I can't pinpoint what it is, but I've sensed it my whole life.
Daring to ask is out of the question; my mother would take offense as usual and beat me until I fall unconscious.
I bowed my head slightly. "I'm home, Mom, Dad."
Instantly, I received dagger stares from my mother's side-eye, thrown at me from across my father, who only growled.
Next thing I knew, two huge figures in black suits and horrifying face masks, resembling cult members, emerged from the hallway leading to the bedrooms. My heart sank from the aura they exuded, and my legs cracked against the wooden ground as I stepped back slowly.
"W ... who are they, dad?" I pointed, scared.
"Shut up, you little witch, and listen!" My mother barked at me as my eyes turned to her.
Her white and black eyes on her rough-aged face held so much hatred and bitterness towards me. I couldn't dare to speak but held my breath where I stood.
"The Alpha king of our pack is dead, Francesca. The Alpha king of the strongest pack in the world is dead! Do you know what that means?" She asked coldly, her eyes squeezing with focus on me.
"It is impossible," I mumbled.
"Exactly! The Alpha King Hector has lived for generations, since the fifteenth century to be precise. His shocking death has caused a world imbalance now."
Countless questions raced through my mind. Who are these men in black? Why does my father appear as though he's witnessed a ghost, silent and panting? And why does my mother harbor such intense hatred toward my presence?
"These men here." Her hands gestured toward the unfamiliar figures. "They are the warriors of the Alpha king. They are here to take you. In short, you have been selected as one of the Omegas to be buried alive with the Alpha king tonight."
What did I just hear? Buried alive with Alpha King Hector, whom I've never seen in person but only heard about as a terrible and cruel ruler during his reign?
My chest ached. I knew my mother hated me, but I couldn't fathom that she despised me enough to offer me up to be buried alive.
"Dad!" I snapped at him, seeking some understanding of what my mother was doing to me, tears threatening to cascade down my eyes. "Can't you see this? They are about to take me away. What wrong have I done?"
My dad wasn't as harsh to me as my mom. It seemed that each time she punished or maltreated me, he allowed it, because he was powerless in the situation, and I didn't know why.
"Just ... do as she says, please." His defeated voice crushed the little bit of hope I had left for surviving this horror.
"Dad..."
I glanced at my mom and witnessed a wicked smile escaping her lips. Anger consumed me, and before I could react further, I was approached, lifted off the ground, and flung over the shoulders of one of the Alpha warriors.
They carried me away while I screamed in agony for help. I didn't know why I was still fighting my fate when it had already been decided that I would die before my eighteenth birthday tomorrow.
FRANCESCAThe golden hour arrived, and darkness enveloped everything as I heard voices – female voices, screaming, crying, and begging for their miserable lives back.I never thought I would cherish that miserable life over dying in such a way.Suddenly, the piece of clothing covering my eyes was removed, and the first thing that caught my eyes was the large fire in front of me.My hands were tied tightly together, just like the other Omegas surrounding me. We were seven Omegas from different backgrounds chosen to be buried alive by the dark Alpha King Hector's side.I could see the fear on their faces, feel the intense pressure of the atmosphere. We surrounded the fire as the Alpha warriors stood behind us, watching our every move. I didn't know where we were, but I knew it was the main territory of Alpha King Hector.People were watching us. Many had come to the burial ceremony as I glanced behind me to take a look.Surely, there was no escape. I couldn't believe I was going to die
FRANCESCAI heard screams as my wolf moved against my will towards everyone present at the burial ceremony.Killing, chewing, and clawing out individuals that I came in contact with.I couldn't control it. My heart raced as numerous questions flooded my mind.'Stop! Stop killing people!' I cried in my head, but it fell on deaf ears."She's a witch! Get that bitch!" I heard the Alpha king's warriors plan to capture me.I'm not a witch. I am a helpless Omega who has known nothing but suffering all her life. No one loved me from birth, not even my own mother.'That's right! No one loves you, and you should appreciate that I'm here to save you.' A voice echoed in my head.'Really?''I will make sure they pay. All the secrets and lies will be revealed soon!''Secrets and lies, what do you mean?'As my wolf was about to claw out another Alpha king's warrior's head, a figure appeared out of nowhere and stood in front of us. The atmosphere became calm suddenly as we stared into his bright red
ALEXANDROSThat was rather surprising, amazing, in fact. Never have I felt so good in centuries. The goddess sure knows her stuff.I stared down at the figure before me as if she were my long-lost treasure. Sound asleep, she looked stunning. I must admit, her allure was undeniable.Although it's a shame I would have to overlook all that when it's time for the ritual, and sadly, her death. She rolls towards me; her hand finds my bare chest and rests there, eliciting a smirk from my lips. She was sweet in bed. If this keeps up, I might get addicted. The next full moon is in two days. Surely, she can't escape it now that she's in my territory. My hands run through her brown, curly hair as I ponder how long I have been looking for her.I sense her eyes watching me, and I was correct as they slowly opened while she woke up."You look beautiful," I complimented. Surely, I should give her credit even once before the D-day.She smiled and responded softly, "Thank you ... Alex."Alex? No! You'
FRANCESCA"Let me go! I said, 'Let me go!'" I struggled, but it was in vain.I couldn't discern if it was night or day as the shaft descended below the earth. I was being taken somewhere, and I could sense it was unholy. My skin crawled as we descended, fear gripping me.Soon, we landed, and two muscular warriors dragged me to 'my room,' as the Alpha king had instructed.Except, I was forcibly restrained with silver chains on both wrists, separating them. Another adorned my neck, bearing a wolf symbol. My legs weren't spared either. They appeared heavy at first glance, but once on me, they were surprisingly lightweight. The presence of someone sent shivers down my spine as he approached, I raised my miserable gaze locking eyes with his dangerously red stare."Enjoying your room, my dear?" A wicked smile twitched his lips, a stark contrast to the first smile I saw when he saved me."Why are you doing this to me? I need answers and I need them fast.""Hahahaha ... this is spectacular!"
FRANCESCA"Speak to me, oh legendary wolf! For over a century, I thought the moon goddess wiped you all from the face of the earth." He paused for a moment before concluding, "To punish me!""You deserve death, and that I shall gladly give you if you don't let me go from your captivity!" Frost warned him sternly as I watched what was unfolding from the back of her mind."Thousands have tried to do so, but yet, I live!""Not for long. Your brother is dead, and so will you soon."Frost seemed to know things greater than my understanding, and her last words had struck a nerve in Alexandros, seeing his forehead veins sprang up in anger."My brother, Hector, was weak compared to me! He died quickly, not being able to live without the source of our immortality for just a hundred years ... and now, I have found you. The key to my immortality and more power.""You enslaved so many and forcefully took from the helpless for over five hundred years. What in goddess's name would make you think I
ALEXANDROS"What nonsense is this?" I stare at her, lying somewhat lifeless in my arms, while breathing heavily from the intense fight against her wolf just now.Is she dead? No, this can't be. Her wolf immediately returned to human form as I was about to stab its heart."Wake up, girl! I don't have time for nonsense games."I take out the dagger resting on her chest, and blood starts gushing out on my face, making me grow angrier. What did this legendary wolf just do?!She recaptures my attention when I see the severe stab I had given her on her chest slowly closing up.She just healed? That means she's alive."Proving stubborn, my dear? Why don't I teach you a lesson to wake up quicker next time, huh?"I was naked, and fortunately, my sexual appetite is always high at any fucking time.Surely, she doesn't expect me to use CPR on her. I'm not that graceful to anyone, not even my second chance mate!Without wasting much time, I position my hardness in her mouth."How about that, huh?
FRANCESCAThe last thing I recall was seeing Alexandros, my mate, so close to me, and my chest being brutally stabbed by him.Gradually, my vision returns, and the earlier sharp pain in my chest has subsided now.I don't know how long I've been unconscious, but I hope I didn't die.Or perhaps I should have. After all, suffering is what awaits me in my mate's captivity.'Why would you say that when you have me now?'That voice... It's in my head.'Frost?!' I called out to her.'Watch closely, Francesca, as I set us free from this bastard called Alexandros.'It was all dark before, but with Frost's words, came a small opening of light that kept widening until I saw who was before me.My eyes widened as I felt my body moving against my will again, and something solid inside me made me uncomfortable.I could sense all the emotions, but I couldn't do anything about it.Alexandros stood before me, cradling me in his hands as I gazed into his eyes. His red eyes were strange, as if they had b
FRANCESCA"FREE ME FROM MY SHACKLES, ALEXANDROS, AND LET ME OUT OF THIS PLACE. ORDER ALL YOUR WARRIORS TO STAND DOWN AS WELL" Frost said firmly."No one will touch you while I'm here!" Alexandros barked, passion in his eyes."I will free you, senorita. And then we can do it in the bedroom, the kitchen..." He paused and rubbed his thumb against my cheek with a smirk. "Even in the bathroom."Next thing I saw, Alexandros stretched his hand backward, and a warrior, badged in, bowed his head slightly. He knelt and handed him a key.I was surprised by the act. Did Frost just tell Alpha King Alexandros what to do, and he obeyed without question?"Now I can't wait any longer," Alexandros spoke, a seductive tone in his voice, as he gently bit the key."Yes, neither can I," Frost responded."Hahaha... you're a sweet one."Alexandros unlocked one of my hands from the chains, and my eyes widened from the back of my mind. It's happening, it's really happening!"Next..." He made haste to unlock the
