Chapter Six | A Different Personality.

FRANCESCA

"Speak to me, oh legendary wolf! For over a century, I thought the moon goddess wiped you all from the face of the earth." He paused for a moment before concluding, "To punish me!"

"You deserve death, and that I shall gladly give you if you don't let me go from your captivity!" Frost warned him sternly as I watched what was unfolding from the back of her mind.

"Thousands have tried to do so, but yet, I live!"

"Not for long. Your brother is dead, and so will you soon."

Frost seemed to know things greater than my understanding, and her last words had struck a nerve in Alexandros, seeing his forehead veins sprang up in anger.

"My brother, Hector, was weak compared to me! He died quickly, not being able to live without the source of our immortality for just a hundred years ... and now, I have found you. The key to my immortality and more power."

"You enslaved so many and forcefully took from the helpless for over five hundred years. What in goddess's name would make you think I will submit to you, dark Alpha king Alexandros?"

"I only did what was necessary for the greater good of the pack, AND my name. Now, Lockwood pack is the most fearsome pack in the entire world, and with my brother gone now, I will be in charge of his region and control everything to my will. You will submit to me, whether you like it or not!"

"Begun, Alexandros. You are not in any way part of those I have made a list to get my revenge. But if you wish to continue with your attempt to take my heart, I shall kill you and send your rotten soul to the moon goddess for further punishment."

"Is that a threat?" He sneered, a wicked grin playing on his lips.

"You, of all people, should know my kind does not do threats. We make promises and keep to them. You have so many enemies waiting for you to make even the slightest mistake ... it would be so easy to bring you down then."

"Let them come! There is a reason why I am the dark Alpha King."

"You will die, either from their hands or from your fading immortality. How could you take young virgins from countless packs, sleeping and torturing them to your will for generations, and expect the moon goddess not to take back her gift of immortality she granted you?"

"Everything got boring after a couple of centuries; I needed to spice things up!" He barked. "And besides, that was very little," he gestured with his fingers. "...Compared to how much they owe me for protection and providing."

Their conversation got intense. I, for one, was surprised at how much my wolf could hold her ground against the all-powerful Alexandros. Then I compared myself with her and wondered if we were indeed the same person.

Obviously not.

She's like a different personality altogether. I still don't know what type of wolf the moon goddess gave me, but I do know she is very powerful. Maybe able to match king Alexandros himself.

The thought of it sent shivers through my veins.

To think she has been with me all these years. In my suffering, in my agony, in my distress. If anyone understood me to the fullest, it would be her.

She saved me from being buried alive when I shifted unknowingly at the funeral. Although this handsome Alpha king came to our rescue when she lost control and killed most people, I believe she is nice behind all that anger inside of her.

I spotted a flash of light in Alexandros's hand while he circled around us speaking. But the unexpected leap of Frost to bite off his head at a close call distracted me.

Sadly, she was held back by the heavy chains, groaning in anger.

"Enough talk," he spoke in a thick ancient accent, staring at us from below. "Once I am done consuming your heart, I will regain my immortality at its fullest. It's the full moon already."

He brought out a small dagger from the back of his hand, raising it high for us to see. "Do you know what this is?" He asked mischievously, but Frost only growled.

"It's a spiritual item capable of killing you, seeing how strong you are. I have successfully killed four others before you with this, and now it's your turn."

On the small dagger were written some ancient inscriptions that I could not understand.

Suddenly, he slit his wrist open with the dagger faster than my eyes could follow, and blood came dripping down to the ground.

That was when I noticed the inscriptions also written in the ground, circling around me, and fear consumed me for what he might do next.

His blood dripped and dropped on the writings in the ground before they changed to an even darker red.

Alexandros shut his eyes and murmured some incantations before me.

That was when my wolf decided to use the opportunity to attack once again.

I didn't know what she did, but Alexandros started screaming in pain as he held his head in his hands.

"Stop it! Urgghh!!"

The dagger fell to the ground from his hand as he curved his body in pain.

Eventually, when he raised his head, his eyes showed their true colors. I saw death before me.

They were bright red, more like in constant flames of fury.

Suddenly, his aura changed, and my heart sank.

The dagger on the ground flew to his hand as he confidently closed the distance between us, not hesitating or contemplating how my wolf would attack next.

Suddenly, a consuming fire sprung out of my wolf's mouth against Alexandros.

I could swear on my life the intensity was enough to melt the strongest rod in the world today in an instant, but surprisingly, the Alpha king was shielding himself with one hand and holding the dagger in the other hand.

His custom robe had been extinguished completely as he became naked in the fight against my wolf.

"Ahhhhhhh!"

I wondered who screamed in pain just now.

I blinked my eyes a couple of times, not believing who was inches away from my face.

His eyes slowly softened, his expression showing concern all of a sudden.

Then, I looked down at my chest, where a dagger was placed, with my blood gushing out before losing consciousness completely.
