I dare you.

Seth Nathaniel's unexpected words hung in the air, echoing in Daisy's mind.

Daisy's heart swelled with a mixture of relief, surprise, and a tinge of uncertainty.

She hadn't anticipated Seth's acceptance of the situation.

"I promise, Seth. I'll come back to you the same way you left me,"

Daisy said, her voice was laced with determination.

Daisy and Seth sat in silence for a moment, each lost in their thoughts, contemplating the gravity of the decision they'd just made.

"Are you sure I should go on with signing the marriage contract?"

Daisy asked, staring askance at Seth Nathaniel.

"If it will help us secure my dad's company from going bankrupt and if you promised to come back to me in one piece, then let's give it a try."

Seth Nathaniel said as he gulped another cup of champagne.

The weight of the impending contract marriage and its potential impact on their relationship hung heavy in the air.

"Seth, I want you to know how much your trust means to me."

Daisy said, her voice was barely above whispers.

"I will do everything in my power to ensure this doesn't change anything between us, not even for a day."

Her voice was laced with assurance and perceived likelihood of achieving all that she had said.

Seth nodded, his eyes etched with a mixture of hope, concern, and a glimmer of understanding.

"I know you will, Daisy. And I'll be here, waiting for you." His voice barely above whispers.

They lingered at the restaurant, their conversation shifting to lighter topics, an attempt to relish the moments they had together amidst the looming uncertainty.

Daisy Hunter drove Seth back to his office before heading back home; she had requested a day off from her boss Wade Roberto.

As Daisy sped back home, she felt a sense of relief and apprehension intertwined.

The decision made with Seth's unexpected support eased some of her worries, but the weight of what lay ahead still loomed over her.

Driving back home, Daisy's mind raced with thoughts of the future, of the two-year contract marriage that lay ahead of her and the impact it would have on her relationship with Seth.

The road ahead felt uncertain, but for the first time since Wade Roberto's proposition, Daisy felt a glimmer of hope that she might navigate through the complexities.

Arriving home, Daisy sank into her couch, the weight of the day's events settling in.

The file lay on the coffee table, a constant reminder of the decision she'd made and the path she'd chosen.

Quickly she glared at her phone, picking it up, she called Wade Roberto.

"Hello my Wi.." Wade Roberto immediately hitched.

"I'm sorry I was dreaming that we were getting married... isn't it weird."

Wade Roberto's voice was laced with authority as he walked out of the office.

"So what's haps?... Why aren't you at the office?" His voice barely above whispers.

Daisy Hunter stared askance at the phone before placing it back on her ear.

"I took a day off, don't you remember?"

Daisy asked, her voice laced with bewilderment.

"I was only pulling your legs."

Wade Roberto said, smiling gleefully.

"Well, what is your decision on the contract marriage?"

"If you refuse, you leave me no choice but to double the payment."

Wade Roberto said, his voice laced with anticipation.

There was silence over the phone for 6 seconds.

"Hello! Daisy, are you still there?"

"Yes, I am still here…I talked to Seth about it and we have decided…"

"Decided what! Daisy, please speak." Wade Roberto said, his voice laced with anticipation.

"We decided that I should sign the marriage contract."

Daisy said, her voice was laced with a mixture of concern and anxiety.

"Yes! Thanks a million, Daisy, I promise you won't regret this."

Wade Roberto said as he jumped on the street in exhilaration.

Looking back, he glared around, seeing that no one was watching him, he continued jumping in happiness.

"Daisy, where are you now?"

Wade Roberto asked, his voice barely above whispers.

"At home…why do you ask?" Daisy asked, sitting up on her bed.

"I want us to get this marriage contract over with and get on with the wedding immediately."

His voice was barely above whispers as he entered his Escalade ESV and turned it on.

"So soon?" Daisy replied immediately.

"Yes…I know it's too much to ask for, but can you please come over to my house in the next 32 minutes to meet my parents?"

Wade asked, making faces that depicted he was asking for something very hard to do.

"Are you serious…like right now?"

Daisy asked as she stared at the clock.

"Please."

Wade's voice was laced with sadness.

"Alright, 32 minutes it is."

************************************************

Moments later, Daisy Hunter is standing in front of the opulent door of Roberto's mansion.

She stood admiring the garden and the whole mansion.

As she stepped up again to ring the doorbell for the 5th time, the door opened immediately, revealing Mrs Angela, Wade's mom.

"Are you the waitress from Splat Burger?" Mrs Angela asked as she stared askance at Daisy Hunter.

Glaring back at Mrs Angela, Daisy's countenance changes from happiness to a mixture of concern and bewilderment.

"No, I'm Wade's fiancée," Daisy said, her voice laced with trepidation.

"You…my son's fiancée?…aren't you his Secretary at the office?"

"Yes, I am ma." Daisy Hunter replied, her gaze intent on Mrs Angela.

Staring askance at Daisy, Mrs Angela's gaze was laced with venom.

"This can't be." Mrs Angela said as she flung the door shut at Daisy's face.

"Wade!"

The muffled sound of Mrs Angela screaming her son's name was all Daisy Hunter could hear from outside the door

The hot sun was really doing a good one scorching her outside.

Moments later…

"Mom!" What's the meaning of this insult?"

"I brought a beautiful lady for me to marry and you locked her outside."

"Who does that?"

Wade Roberto's voice was laced with anger.

They were all sitting at the dining table.

Wade Roberto glared at Daisy, who quickly gave her the disapproving look.

"Wade, I know we asked you to marry but that doesn't mean you have to marry her?"

Mrs Angela said, pointing lecherously at Daisy.

"I was preparing a beautiful damsel for you."

"Tracy, come on out." Mrs Angela called out.

Just then Tracy Molly, a beautiful lady, walked out of Mrs Angela's room.

Her beauty wasn't to be questioned.

"C'mon turn around and show Wade those beautiful curves." Mrs Angela said, smiling gleefully.

Tracy Molly turned, her radiant smile beaming as she showcased an effortless grace.

Her poised demeanour was matched only by her stunning appearance.

Her dress flowed elegantly around her, accentuating her feminine assets.

Wade's eyes widened slightly in surprise as Tracy approached the table, her gaze meeting his.

His mother, Mrs Angela, looked triumphant, clearly pleased with Tracy's grand entrance.

"Isn't she beautiful, Wade?" Mrs Angela asked, her voice tinged with an air of assurance.

Tracy leaned in gracefully, offering her hand to Wade, a subtle yet confident move that drew his attention.

Her eyes sparkled as she locked gazes with Wade, a faint but warm smile playing on her lips.

"Mom! Enough of this, your mind games."

"I wouldn't have you control me just as you have done all my life."

"Daisy is the one I want and I will marry her."

Wade Roberto said, his voice laced with authority, he was even surprised at the authority by which he spoke to his mom.

Daisy Hunter stood by his side and held hands in a bid to pacify his anger.

Standing up abruptly, Mrs Angela said," Tracy go inside and wait for me at once."

"Okay, ma." Tracy Molly said as she ran off into the room.

"Wade, if you choose to marry Daisy or whatever you call her, just know that the marriage wouldn't ho…"

Mrs Angela was interrupted immediately by the voice of Mr Gilbert Roberto.

"No!"

"No!"

"No!"

His voice barely above whispers as he steps down the stairs, the stairs creaking under his weight.

"The marriage will hold."

"Congratulations Miss Daisy for winning my son's heart."

Mr Gilbert Roberto said, as he shook Daisy Hunter's hand smiling gleefully.

"Gilbert! What's the meaning of this…"
