A silent room.

Stepping into the room, Daisy quickly flipped her light switch.

'Dang it! The power is out again.' Her thoughts raced as she walked slowly into the dark room.

Just then the light flickers on.

"Surprise!"

The voice of Allison Melody and her two friends Vicki and Christiana broke through the silence.

"Happy birthday, Daisy!"

Allison and her friend's voices reverberate through the apartment, echoing with warmth and excitement.

Daisy stood frozen, caught between the rush of adrenaline from the initial shock and the sudden flood of relief that washed over her.

Her heart still raced, but now with a different kind of anticipation and joy.

"I can't believe you all did this!"

Daisy exclaimed, a wide smile breaking across her face as she took in the sight of the room adorned with colorful decorations and a table full of her favorite treats.

"We wanted to surprise you! And what better way than on your special day?"

Allison beamed, her enthusiasm infectious.

As the initial surprise settled in, Daisy found herself enveloped in hugs and laughter, her worries momentarily forgotten in the embrace of friendship and celebration.

The room buzzed with chatter and laughter, each moment etching a memory that would stay with Daisy for years to come.

Amidst the joyous chaos, she couldn't help but steal glances at the file still clutched in her hand, a stark reminder of the weighty decision looming in the back of her mind.

"Happy birthday, Daisy,"

Christiana said, handing her a small gift with a knowing smile.

Opening it, Daisy found a beautifully bound journal, its pages pristine and waiting to be filled with her thoughts and dreams.

It felt like a symbolic gesture, urging her to reflect on the choices ahead.

The surprise birthday party continued till evening.

"Allison, Christiana and Vicki, you guys have really tried for me."

"I actually forgot that today was even my birthday." Daisy said, her voice barely above whispers.

"Are you serious?...you mean you forgot that today was your birthday?...Wow." Vicki said.

"By the way, How is your work going?...I heard the paycheck for a cleaner at Roberto's Luxury Empire is even higher than the salary of a director at other companies?"

Christiana asked, her face etched with bewilderment.

"Very funny, but it's true...My boss Wade Roberto is really doing a good job when it comes to the staff welfare." Daisy Hunter said, smiling gleefully.

"What about Seth Nathaniel, when are you guys planning to do the wedding?"

Vicki's voice was laced with a mixture of concern and empathy.

Daisy Hunter found the question disturbing as she furrowed her eyes in bewilderment and stared at Vicki before managing to say, "We haven't fixed a date yet, we're both occupied with work at the moment."

The mention of Seth Nathaniel and their pending wedding brought a momentary solemnity to the room.

Daisy's mind, however, was caught in a whirlwind of thoughts about the unexpected proposition from her boss, Wade Roberto.

She managed to divert the conversation, steering it toward lighthearted topics and away from the complexities of her professional life.

As the evening progressed, laughter filled the air again, and the weight of the file in her hand became a distant concern, at least for the time being.

Moments later…

Daisy Hunter and Allison Melody are bading goodbye to their friends.

"Allison, aren't you coming home with us?" Vicki's voice was barely above whispers.

"No! I will spend the night with Daisy and help her clean up."

Allison said as she and Daisy Hunter watched their friends enter a cab.

"Thanks a million for everything you did Allison."

Daisy's voice was laced with a mixture of exhilaration and gratitude.

"It's really nothing, what are best friends for?"

"Quick, let's clean up the house and prepare for a good night's rest."

Allison's voice was vehement, they began to clear the room, removing the decorations and clearing the table of the remnants of the party.

Daisy's mind, however, was far from the cheerful atmosphere that had enveloped the apartment just moments ago.

As they tidied up, Daisy's thoughts kept drifting back to the proposal from Wade Roberto.

The weight of the decision she faced lay heavy on her shoulders, intruding into every corner of her mind, even amidst the laughter and camaraderie of the evening.

Allison noticed Daisy's preoccupied demeanor.

"Hey, you seem distant. Is everything alright?" Her voice was laced with a mixture of concern and empathy.

Daisy paused, the weight of her thoughts evident in her gaze. "I've got something pretty heavy on my mind."

"Is it about what happened at the office today?" Allison inquired, concern etched on her face.

Daisy hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to divulge.

"Yeah, it's work-related. But it's complicated." She said, sighing.

Allison nodded knowingly, recognizing Daisy's hesitation.

"You don't have to talk about it if you're not ready. Just know that I'm here for you."

Her voice was barely above whispers.

With a grateful smile, Daisy continued helping with the cleanup, the task providing a welcome distraction from the tumult of thoughts swirling in her mind.

As they finished tidying up, Daisy found herself standing by the window, gazing out into the night sky.

The stars blinked in the darkness, a serene sight that offered a momentary respite from the chaos within.

Allison approached her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"You're not alone in this, you know. Whatever it is, you'll figure it out."

Daisy managed a faint smile, touched by Allison's unwavering support.

"Thanks, Ally. I appreciate it more than you know."

Her voice was barely above whispers and laced with gratitude.

The night wore on, and eventually, exhaustion caught up with both of them.

They retired to Daisy's room, the events of the day still lingering in Daisy's mind as she lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Ally! Are you asleep yet?"

Daisy Hunter asked as she stared at the wall clock, the time was 8.59 pm.

"What is it?...are you finally ready to let me help you as a Doctor?"

Allison's voice was barely above whispers as she sat up on the bed.

"Have a look at this?" Daisy Hunter said, her hands wobbly as she hands her best friend the file.

"What is this?" Allison asked, her face etched with bewilderment and anxiousness.

"Just go through it." Daisy said as she twists her hair with her hand.

Flipping through the documents, Allison Melody stared askance at the whole thing.

'This cannot be, twenty billion dollars...for a two year marriage contract.' Her thoughts raced.

"A marriage contract with your boss?" Allison Melody asked, her mouth agape.

"Have you told Seth Nathaniel about it?" Allison asked, her voice laced with a mixture of trepidation and concern.

The weight of her question hung in the air.

"I plan to…" Daisy Hunter was interrupted by a vehement knock on her door.

Allison shuddered backwards in trepidation.

"How could that be by this time of the night?"

Daisy asked as she walked over to the door.

"Who's at the door…
