Chapter 1. Happy Family

1. Happy Family

Wynter's Point of view:

"Ewww," I scrunched up my nose as I noticed Daddy kissing Mama Iris on the neck.

These two can't keep their hands off each other, and they occasionally forget they have three children and start doing everything openly.

Mama Iris is in the kitchen right now preparing my breakfast, and Daddy has his hands around her from behind, as if his life depended on her. It does, and no matter how cute they appear, Harris or Hunter may barge in at any time, and I enjoy teasing them every time.

"Princess," Daddy said, not letting go of mom Iris. How adorable are these two, however he had to let her go quickly since Mama Iris was embarrassed and stabbed her elbow on his side, as she always did.

"Ouch," Daddy grumbled, and I burst out laughing.

"You like taking her side, don't you?" Daddy grumbled. "And why did you hit me, Sab?"

"Because you wouldn't let me go, and I've told you so many times that kids roam the home, but you don't have to listen to me, and you even distracted me by..." she came to a halt when she realized I was still standing there.

"Whatever these two ladies enjoy harassing me with, at least my boys will support me," Daddy stated proudly.

"They are mama's guys, and they will not side with you," Mama Iris chuckled.

"Okay, you both remember I am still here and I am getting late because I have courses all day," I said, bored.

"Yes, baby, sit here, I've got the breakfast ready, and we can all leave together," I said as I sat at the table, while Mama Iris went to get our food and Dad went to get ready for work.

I poured myself a glass of water and was about to sip it when Harris took the glass from me and gulped the water.

"Thank you so much," he said with a foolish smile. This jerk is continually trying to irritate me.

Harris is my younger sibling. I'm nineteen, he's fourteen, and he'll be fifteen next month. His hobbies involve bothering me, but I have to admit that I enjoy it as well, and fighting with him always raises my mood.

I know it's weird, but we're the best of friends, and if there's anyone I share all my secrets with after Mama Iris, it's Harris.

"Harris Can't you fetch yourself some water? "I huff.

"No, I couldn't," he laughed. "Anyway, had you kept the fridge open?" he inquired.

"Don't tell me you ate my ice cream," I said as I stood up, and he did as well.

He gradually began to back away, and I know he did it.

I began walking approach him. "You did it, didn't you?" he began running away from me, and I began after him.

I would have justified it if it had been another time, but Harris has colds all the time and it has only been a few days since he recovered from flu, so we don't let him have cold things, but he, like everyone else in the family, can't resist the impulse to eat ice cream.

"Okay, okay, I didn't have it, I was just teasing you," he laughed.

\

Something or rather someone tugged on my coat as I was about to give him an earful.

"Wyn Wyn, what happened?" Hunter, my baby brother, was asking in his cute voice.

He is only five years old and the apple of everyone's eye in this family. He is the boss baby and none of us can resist his sweetness. If you believe I or Harris were cute at this age, Hunter would defy all limits of cuteness.

After Harris was born, Mama Iris had some issues, and doctors told her she couldn't get pregnant. Though she was a little unhappy at first, she was glad that she had both Harris and me, but six years ago, this miracle happened, and we were all ecstatic.

My five-year-old son Hunter and I are partners in crime, and we frequently annoy Harris.

He calls me Wyn Wyn since he couldn't pronounce my name when he was younger, and even though his pronunciation is pretty clear now, he is still used to it.

"Look, Hunter, Harris, he ate all our ice cream," I said, grinning at Harris.

"When did I do that? I told you I was only mocking you," Harris promptly said.

Hunter would not let this go easy, he knew. "Mamaaaa!" Hunter yelled. "Daddy!" I sneered at Harris as they both dashed away.

"You asked for this," I said, folding my arms and laughing at him.

"What happened, Hun?" said Mama Iris and Daddy. Mama Iris inquired, undoubtedly knowing what went wrong, but her mother instincts couldn't help but worry about him.

"Look, Mama, Harris had mine and Wyn Wyn's ice cream," he pointed out, pointing to Harris.

"What!" Mama Iris exclaimed as she looked at Harris. "Mama, I didn't. I was only teasing Wynter," he said as he backed away.

"Is it?" Mama Iris asked, turning to face me.

"Okay, I don't know what happened, but I think he's speaking the truth," I surrendered and raised my hands. "Mama, look, they always team up against me, and you believe them," Harris pouted.

"No, Baby, I was worried you have recovered just now," Mama Harris huffed as Iris cupped his cheeks.

I laughed as I looked at Hunter. "And you two," she said as she turned to face us, and we stopped laughing. Hunter crept up behind me.

"And you two, you're getting out of hand, and I think I should punish you," Mama Iris said, fixing her gaze on us.

"Sab, let it go. They're only kids, let them have fun," Dad urged.

"No, Arman, they're getting out of hand. They always bother my poor Harris, that's why they're not getting any ice cream today," Mama Iris explained.

"What!!" Hunter and I both exclaimed at the same time.

"Yes, you heard me correctly," she said as she walked away.

Hunter made a crying face, which was enough to make me and Daddy cry.

"Don't worry, champ, I'll get us some ice cream on our way home, and we can have it alone," I said into his ear.

We are both ice cream addicts who cannot go a day without it.

"Okay, go now and get dressed, and I'll go check on Ellies," I said, referring to a neighboring kindergarten and Ellies, my pet dog.

I was four when Daddy purchased him for me, and he was a puppy at the time. He is all grown up, and I am very devoted to Elly.

He is a chowchow dog that is fifteen years old right now. I know he appears to be quite old, but he is quite healthy and active, possibly because anything I learn I apply to him and keep him in good health.

Yes, I am nearly a veterinarian. Almost, because I will have my qualifications in one month and will then be able to operate my own hospital.

That is what I learned from Mama Iris, to follow my passion and become what my heart desires. And Mama Iris always used to tell me that no matter how rich we are, we should never take that for granted. Instead, we should make our own identity rather than being identified as our parents' children, which is why we all stay away from limelights except for dad because his business requires his constant social presence, which is why he has to be there. Whenever it demands, he takes Mama Iris along sometimes, and Harris joins them. Still, I prefer to stay away from that chaotic life instead. I like a simple one without anyone putting their nose in my business.

Like Mama Iris, even though her parents were billionaires, she was never known by their names, nor did she stop herself from pursuing her dreams because she thought she had all the comforts in the world. Though Mama Iris was more wealthy than Daddy, she transferred everything to Daddy and on us, but she stopped reporting due to the threat she posed to our lives as a result of her profession, but she still does all of the editing and concept planning in uncle Mike and uncle Chris's firm, and they three are best friends.

And she spends all of her leisure time at JKs, one of the biggest restaurant franchises in Manhattan and Chicago.

Mama Iris took over as the sole daughter after my grandparents died, and since then she has been managing JK alongside her career, while Daddy assists her with everything, not to mention Harris.

Even though he is just fifteen, he has some robotic mentality, and all he thinks about is business, which is why Mama Iris and Daddy take him along after school. Perhaps he can take over JK's and soon surpass Daddy in business in only a few years.

That's all for my family, and I consider myself fortunate to have them. I'm not sure what I would have done without Mama Iris.

Yes, she is not the mother from whom I was born, yet I never felt the absence of Mommy after she died. Denissa was her name, and I miss her in a good manner, perhaps because I didn't have her presence from the beginning; only when I saw other kids with parents did I crave motherly affection, but after I found Mama Iris, that void was also filled.

She has always been my best friend, and I don't keep any secrets from her because she is the only one who can advise me, but there is one thing I have kept from her, and when the perfect time comes, I will tell her.

I sighed and went to the dining table, where we finished our breakfast and parted ways.

Daddy dropped Harris off at school, and I grabbed my car and dropped Hunter off at kindergarten on my way out the door. Mama Iris usually drops him off, but she was running late today.

"Bye, Wyn Wyn," Hunter said as he waved goodbye.

"Bye, Hunter, I'll pick you up later," I waved as I waited for him to enter, and as soon as his instructor waved back, I was on my way.

As soon as I stepped onto the college grounds, there was standing at the gate, hands folded, waiting for me.

"Sean Albert"
