Arianna:
“Good evening, boss, the usual?” I asked, smiling at the Alpha who just walked toward the bar.
Alpha Dean Ivanov, Pakhan, and Alpha of Alphas, also my family’s biggest challenge and rival.
His blue eyes met my green ones and he nodded in response and I smiled before turning to the bottles and pulling out his bottle of scotch and a glass.
I poured the glass for him and handed it to him before turning to his beta, or in other words, his second hand as I poured him his glass.
I waited for a few seconds, wanting to see whether or not they needed anything else, but the Alpha simply nodded, dismissing me as he turned to his beta. I caught sight of the chain under his shirt, meaning that he had the keys.
I turned toward the next customers, a couple, who were sitting beside one another and I frowned as I saw the man pouring white powder, a drug, inside the woman’s drink. Her eyes were on her phone as he did it, before she extended her hand to wrap around the glass.
The woman went to take a sip only for me to clear my throat and take the glass from her, making her frown.
“What is your problem?” She asked, glaring at me.
“That is a question that you need to ask your date here,” I said, handing him the glass. “Take a sip,”
“What the fuck…?”
“I said a word,” I smiled at him, my smile devious as I glared at the man who pushed the glass away from him. The Alpha and his beta stopped whatever they were saying, turning their attention to us as I crossed my arms over my chest. “I do believe that you don’t have the balls to face the consequence that you just drugged your date’s drink, do you?”
“You are sick,” he said, shaking his head at me as the woman frowned.
“Prove me wrong then,” I said, pushing the drink toward him again. “Drink it,”
The man pushed the drink at me, causing the glass to break and the drink to pour and I took a deep breath as he got up. He wrapped his hand around the woman’s arm, pulling her to her feet just as Alpha Dean stood in front of him, glaring daggers at the man.
“You have two options,” he said, glaring at the man whose heart raced. “Let the woman’s arm go, or get a fucking beating that I will be sure that you never forget.”
“You people are sick, is this how you treat your clients?” The man asked and the woman snatched her arm from him, glaring at him as she did.
“It is you who is fucking sick.” She said, turning to the bar. She grabbed the Alpha’s glass before pouring it at the man whose eyes widened in surprise before she put the glass back on the bar. “To think that you fucking changed.”
“Beatrice…”
“Don’t fucking call me again,” she said, walking toward the door without saying a word. The man froze before the Alpha nodded at two of us men to come and kick him out. They grabbed him by his arm and pulled him toward the door just as I kneeled down to pick up the broken glass, noticing that it cut my ankle.
“Shit,” I said, shaking my head before straightening to get a napkin.
“Are you okay?” The Alpha asked and I nodded before he frowned as he probably caught the smell of blood.
“It’s a small scrape, I just don’t want any glass to be stuck inside, that’s all.” I said and he nodded before walking behind the counter toward me. His eyes met mine for a second, and I couldn’t help but feel a clench in my chest as my wolf tried fighting me, wanting to give in to her urge. However, I was quick to suppress her as I kept my eyes on him, thankful for the fact that the spray’s effect was yet to wear off and he couldn’t catch my scent.
He pushed me to sit on the counter before grabbing the napkin from my hand and removing the two shards that were the initial reason that my ankle was cut. His eyes met mine and he smiled, “I appreciate what you did back there.”
“I wasn’t going to have a man drug the woman without her consent,” I said and he nodded.
“Well, how about I invite you for a drink in the pool as compensation for what you did?” He said, his eyes meeting mine for a second before he looked down at the cut as he wiped the blood off.
“My shift hasn’t ended yet though, and there is no one else to cover it today. Emelia is taking a day off.” I said and he nodded.
“The night is still young anyway, finish your shift and meet at the pool.” He said and I nodded as a smile made its way to my lips. He took a step back, allowing me to get down on my feet and I couldn’t help but find myself glancing at the key, which dangled over his shirt, for a second before looking down at the glass.
“I’ll go and get a broom to clean up, then I’ll proceed with work.” I said, and he nodded. I nodded at the customers who were waiting, knowing that they heard me, and both girls nodded in assurance as I walked toward the janitor’s closet.
I pulled my phone out and looked up to make sure that no one was watching before sending my father the one text that he was waiting to hear for the past few months.
-I’ll be a little late tonight. I have a little key to fetch.
-Preso atto, assicurati di mantenere la tua copertura. Noted, just be sure to stay under cover. His response was instant and I couldn’t help but shake my head, knowing that he was waiting to hear from me anyway, especially considering the fact that he knew that the Alpha was in the city.
-Non preoccuparti, chiamami quando avrai finito. Don’t worry, I’ll call you when it’s done…
I put my phone back in my pocket before grabbing my bag and sneaking out of the janitor’s room, using the window, making sure that no one saw me from the outside.
I walked toward the man and woman who were waiting for me by the backdoor, knowing that no one ever used it unless it was an emergency.
“Good job,” I said, pulling out the envelope containing the two thousand dollars.
“I don’t have the balls, do I?” The man asked, raising an eyebrow. I didn’t even know their names, but there was a lot that two thousand dollars could do in a five minute showcase.
“You’re getting paid to hear such a word, or do you want me to back down…”
“Marcus,” the woman said and I rolled my eyes before handing them their envelope.
“Now disappear, and I don’t want to see your faces around here again. Otherwise, I believe that you know how fatal the consequences would be…”
Dean:“You were right, Alpha.” Viktor said, walking toward me with his laptop, showing me the camera footage, revealing Arianna standing with the man and woman who were causing a scene.“We will just have to see what the woman is on about.” I said, shrugging my shoulders as I saw her paying the man. Both he and the woman walked away toward a bike, and the woman got behind him before Arianna snuck back inside through the window. I couldn’t help but feel a clench in my chest, though what it was about, I didn’t understand. All I knew was that I didn’t like what I saw, and not in a normal way where I would be reacting almost instantly. It was something beyond that and the pain that I felt because of it was not one that I could understand.I rolled my eyes, masking whatever I was feeling before nodding at Viktor to take his laptop. “Do you want me to call her over?”“No, she would know to come up with a lie until then, and that is not something that I want.” I said, and Viktor raised an a
Arianna:I got dressed, frowning as I caught sight of my pack’s mark on my left shoulder. The last thing that I needed was for him to recognize where I came from, and though I knew that we rarely ever revealed who we were or our marks, I knew that as my father’s rival, that he could know what the tattoo stood for.I shook my head at myself before running my fingers through my hair, throwing it over my shoulders as I let my curls cover my breast and shoulder. I was just going to find a way to lie about this as well, there was no true other way to do it, and this wasn’t something that I was going to back away from, not when I was this close to what I wanted to find.I took a deep breath and walked out of the changing room, my eyes catching sight of the Alpha who was already inside the pool. His eyes met mine and he smirked, eyeing me up and down for a second before nodding at me to come.I jumped inside the water, diving in as I swam toward him, knowing that I had his full attention. I
Dean:My heart dropped as my wolf called ‘Mate’ at the woman who was sitting, choking, in front of me.Her heartbeat slowed down, and I wrapped my arms around her before opening the antidote and forcing it down her throat. Her breathing evened in a minute, but she slept in my arms as I looked at her with keen and careful eyes. My body aching with the need to figure out how I wasn’t able to sense her.I lifted her in my arms and got out of the pool, carrying her inside, heading to my suite. There was no way that I was going to leave now that I knew that my mate was here, and all this time, for months, she was working for me.She laid her head on my chest, her wolf purring despite her being asleep and I couldn’t help but return the purrs as I ran my finger over her bare shoulder gently.“Boss?” Viktor asked, frowning in confusion as he took sight of me, processing what he was seeing. I had to fight back a growl, reminding myself that there were humans around, as I grew protective over t
Arianna:My heart dropped against my ribcage as I heard the Alpha’s phone ring. He put the call on speaker, wanting me to hear what the man was saying.“Boss?” The man asked through the other line, it was his beta. The man was taunting me and he knew that, and seeing the gun’s muzzle through the camera as it moved to follow the man and woman didn’t make this any better. If anything, I couldn’t help but feel more frightened than I already was. “Shoot…”“Don’t.” I said, stopping him. He smirked and raised an eyebrow as the beta waited for what his Alpha would say. “Please, don’t…”The Alpha stayed quiet for a few seconds, clearly challenging me, waiting to see what I was going to do. But at this point, I was stuck, at his mercy, waiting for his response until I found a way out of this mess that I put myself in. “Hold,” the Alpha said and I bit my bottom lip. The last thing that I wanted was to cost innocent people their lives. Regardless of who I was, my war was with the Alpha, they h
Dean:I wrapped my arms around the woman, my mate, who I knew was now flustered with the need of me touching her, pulling her toward the bed.Her heart raced against her ribcage, and I knew that it was going to take me a lot more self control than I would want not to mark her. But feeding my wolf’s hunger should do the trick for now. To say the least, he wouldn’t be too curious about how it felt like to be with his mate. That didn’t mean that I was going to mark her just yet.Her eyes met mine as I leaned in before connecting my lips with hers. Her heart raced against my ribcage and mine did too. The idea of being inside her was more tempting than ever, and seeing as she didn’t pull away, I could tell that she wanted this as much as I did.I ran my fingers over her waist as she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer. And pulling away, Arianna bit my bottom lip, gently pulling on it before I pushed my tongue inside her mouth, exploring and dominating her. She whimpered at t
Arianna:I woke up in my mate’s arms, his chest rising and falling with each breath that he took as the two of us lay naked in one another’s arms. His neck somewhat bruised because of the love bite that I gave him last night, and knowing that I had a few around my body, I knew to cover them before I head home. The last thing that I needed was for my father to see them. I smiled for a second before my chest ached, forcing me to remind myself why I was doing this in the first place. I was not here to mate, and that was something that I knew for fact. The man was my mission, no one even knew that he was my mate. And I intended to keep it that way. The last thing that I needed was for my father to find out that his enemy was his daughter’s mate. I slowly unwrapped his arm from around my waist as I got up, knowing that he wouldn’t be waking up any time soon. The man was in the presence of his mate and his wolf felt somewhat content upon feeling me around him. Thankfully, the man chose
Dean:I smiled as I opened my eyes, my body and wolf satisfied, for now, that we got to feel our mate. And the fact that I have known her for a while now only made it better. To say the least, I didn’t have to wait for her to accept me. I was no stranger to her and she wasn’t to me. However, it wasn’t long before I frowned, noticing that she wasn’t on the bed beside me. Her scent filled the room, but considering the fact that she was with me throughout the whole night and that we marked most of the suite, I wouldn’t have expected otherwise. Her heartbeat wasn’t heard and frowning, I turned to the bedside table to pick up my phone only to notice that my necklace wasn’t there. I let out a low growl of annoyance and shook my head as I pinched the bridge of my nose.I picked up my phone and called Viktor, my chest aching as I knew that she not only failed the test that I put for her, but that she, my mate, turned out to be a liar. “Alpha?” Viktor asked, and I didn’t have to ask to kno
Arianna: I entered the pack’s grounds, my chest aching as I walked through, knowing that this might be the last time that I have been here. At least, for a long while. The fact that I escaped the Alpha is miraculous enough, me reaching the house was something that I was thankful for. “You slept out again,” my step mother, Mariana, said from behind me. I took a deep breath and turned around to face her, giving her the best smug sarcastic smile that I could muster. The last thing that I needed right now was to get in trouble with her. The woman was an ass alone, and that was something that I didn’t want to get involved in, at least, not for now. “Hello to you too, Mariana.” “Luna,” she said, correcting me. Her fake blonde hair was tied in a messy bun over her head and her sweaty face told me that she was training for the first time in months. The woman hasn’t been moving a muscle for ages now, and though I never really understood the reason, I never bothered to ask the reason. Plus,
