Chapter 8

Dean:

I smiled as I opened my eyes, my body and wolf satisfied, for now, that we got to feel our mate.

And the fact that I have known her for a while now only made it better. To say the least, I didn’t have to wait for her to accept me. I was no stranger to her and she wasn’t to me.

However, it wasn’t long before I frowned, noticing that she wasn’t on the bed beside me. Her scent filled the room, but considering the fact that she was with me throughout the whole night and that we marked most of the suite, I wouldn’t have expected otherwise.

Her heartbeat wasn’t heard and frowning, I turned to the bedside table to pick up my phone only to notice that my necklace wasn’t there. I let out a low growl of annoyance and shook my head as I pinched the bridge of my nose.

I picked up my phone and called Viktor, my chest aching as I knew that she not only failed the test that I put for her, but that she, my mate, turned out to be a liar.
