Chapter Twenty Seven: The Funeral

It was a cool evening, the wind was calm, as well as the environment. Xavier watched the funeral space behind the blinds of his office window, golden rays illuminating his tempting features, while he turned his drink between his fingers.

All the black clothings, wooden podium, and stacks of dried wood poked at a memory he'd buried down in layers of hatred. He wasn't mentally comfortable with having a funeral in the pack, but here he was deliberately torturing himself with the scene.

He didn't think a lot of people would attend a sudden funeral at his backyard and he hadn't made it compulsory, but the five alphas, and a huge number of people were walking about down there, speaking in subdued tones and mourning quietly.

"Ugh…" he scoffed, moving away from the window to his chair. He didn't want to go and no one would question his absence, but since he partly planned this little torture, he might as well see it through. "I don't even have a reasonable role in this…" he grunted and poure
