Chapter Twenty Nine: The Awakening

"Of course the foolish bastard wouldn't listen. He's brought his own death on himself, especially with that bloodsucker," Xavier grunted, shaking his head slightly, a deep frown settled permanently on his forehead.

He walked through the dimly lit corridor with Ezekiel and Zain at his sides, looking as pissed as he was. Another vampire and rogue attack in two months. The serenity of his pack was now disturbed by these creatures who seemed to be getting bolder and bolder each day.

"Perhaps, my message last time wasn't clear enough for both of them."

He worked his jaw slowly, while trying to keep his anger at bay. The bloodsucker had always been a problem from day one, but he still hadn't figured out why he'd teamed up with a werewolf. Demitrey's motives were clear as day; he wanted him dead and he wanted his territory as well, but as for Antonio, what could Antonio possibly gain from the alliance save having him dead, which was impossible.
