Shazia looked at the chair as her eyes scanned the room, she was looking for a way to escape those two.

“You can’t escape, there’s only one way, this door,” Dev said cockily as Shazia gulped, slowly taking the seat, her eyes stayed on Andrew, who had a stone expression on his face.

Dev held the camera in his hand and pulled the drawer open. Keeping the tripod on the desk, he set it up as it showed her face correctly.

“Why did you do that?” Andrew was the one to ask. His voice was loud in the small furniture-less place; Shazia gulped, closing her eyes.

‘I can’t be weak, I can’t be weak,’ she chanted in her mind until he banged his hand on the desk, making blood slip down his hand. Her whole body shook with fear. She never liked violence. It made her remember the way her father used to beat her mother.

It was a triggering memory

Shazia flinched as she eyed his hand and then his injured hand.

“Why?” He asked once again, his eyes were turning red with each passing moment. He just wanted to shoot Dev and take her away with him but he couldn’t.

As much as he wanted to, he couldn’t.

“Work,” Her voice was not even above a whisper.

“Work?” He chuckled, “Seriously?” his heart could not believe she could be so heartless to term it as work.

“Yes, work,” She replied, her eyes were full of tears but she was still looking at him with ferociousness. The fractiousness he once loved.

“Shazia, do you even know how many people were killed in that work of yours? You killed women, men, children, and even infants. Do you understand that?” He wanted to see the remorse in her eyes.

‘Please show me you are guilty love, please, I will break every rule of duty to save you, save us from all this, please… please show me your guilt just once, Shazia,’ He wanted to say that to her. But he couldn’t. His duty didn’t allow him to.

“As I said before, it was just WORK,” She said in a neutral tone and lastly gave him a small smile.

Andrew pulled out his gun and kept it on his head, “I can kill you this instant, Shazia,” he said, his whole body burning in anger and pain.

His throat felt so heavy with all the emotions stuck.

He felt helpless.

“That you will, either way,” She looked directly into his eyes, standing up as she heard the sound of bullets loading into Dev’s gun.

She glanced at him, she knew Andrew might or not shoot, but Dev surely would.

“Relax, hyper monkey,” She said, glancing at Dev, then her eyes wandered from Andrew’s red eyes to his lips, “Won't you?” she asked while keeping her perfectly manicured nails on his chest seductively.

“I won’t”. She raised her eyebrows at him with a smile on her face.

“Ha-ha, go ahead,” She said, taking her seat back on the chair, laughing sarcastically.

“I am serious,” he held her top in his hand, her whole chest was visible to him, but she did not care about her nakedness but the anger in Andrew’s eyes.

“Oh,” That’s all she said.

“We won’t kill you but on one condition,” Dev spoke to Andrew as he glanced at the soon-to-be non-couple, couple.

“If you—“

“Give all the confidential information to you” She completed the sentence for Dev and glanced at Andrew.

“You know this is the only thing I don’t like being an agent, we are always offered to sell our mulk,” She started in a dull tone, but then her voice turned deadly cold. One that was enough to send chills down Dev and Andrew’s spine.

They gulped, looking at her, their guns still loaded, waiting for one mistake so they could finish off their fear.

Finish her

“Even if I consider it, you will kill me once your organization is done taking my advantage,” She stated and closed her eyes.

“Go on, kill me, baby boy,” She said, looking at Andrew as he sighed.

“You still have a chance to think, Shazia,” he said, holding his gun. He really didn’t want to take the life of the girl he loved more than himself.

“I have made my choice, baby boy,” Shazia said as she glanced at Andrew with a smile.

“You left me with no option, Shazia,” Andrew said as he pointed his gun at her head. He was going to shoot her right in the forehead.

“Trust me, this is the best option for us, Andrew,” she said, pointing at his gun. She was tempted to finish him with a single hit but she did not.

“Sorry Shazia,” Andrew whispered, keeping his gun on her forehead.

“Koi Aakhri khuwaish?” (Any last wish?) Dev asked as he pointed his gun at her too.

“Water, chilled water with a block of ice cube, can you arrange that?” She made her last wish as Andrew looked at Dev before he nodded and walked out of the room.

Not even a second had passed before Dev walked out of the room. Shazia felt a pair of cold lips on hers. She immediately closed her eyes as her arms encircled around his neck.

His kiss was fierce, one they had never had before.

“Think again, Shazia, we can still solve this,” he said, holding her cheek.

“I thought you loved me,” She looked away, she wanted to know the truth before she died.

“I do, fuck yes, I do,” Her eyes stared at his as he poured his soul out in an unspoken form. His eyes spoke to her.

“I love you, Shazia Khan,” he said, no pleaded. She looked at the ground.

“Think about your choice again, I can burn down the whole world for you, just accept me, accept this offer, Shazia,” he held her by her shoulder and made her look at him.

“We can live together, Shazia, we can get married, have a cute baby girl like you and a naughty boy like me, they will have our features while we will fight when they do something wrong. Then hold each other and say sorry, grow old together holding each other as we take our last breath, Shazia,” He sat on his knees.

“Please, choose us, Shazia, choose us please,” he said as the door opened, revealing Dev with a glass of chilled water and block ice cubes.
